  • Publication number: 20180332032
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to preventing unauthorized access to secured information systems. A computing platform may receive, from an end user desktop computing device, a request to login to a user account associated with a user account portal. In response to receiving the request, the computing platform may generate an authentication token in an authentication database and may send a notification to at least one registered device linked to the user account. After sending the notification, the computing platform may receive, from the at least one registered device, an authentication response message. If the authentication response message indicates that valid authentication input was received, the computing platform may update the authentication token to indicate that the request to login to the user account has been approved. After updating the authentication token, the computing platform may provide, to the end user desktop computing device, access to a portal interface.

  • Publication number: 20180321719
Abstract: A fully out-of-band, automated process provides centralized, concurrent in-system cluster-level/hyper-scale CPU thermal excursion signature detection based on system event log (SEL) content. A chassis manager within a hyper-scale cluster operates as the initiator of a cluster-level SEL collection and analysis operation. The master chassis manager initiates a collect and analyze operation, which gets relayed to every chassis manager within the cluster. Every recipient chassis manager then further propagates the collect and analyze operation request to each of the server blades hosted within the chassis. A Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) on each server hosted within the chassis receives a cluster SEL read request from the chassis manager through out-of-band communication interfaces. The BMC forwards SEL data for the server back to the chassis manager, which analyzes the data received from all the servers on the chassis and then sends the results to next manager in the hierarchy.

The first processing path includes a first processing element and is coupled to receive a first input signal on a first input pin and to provide a first output signal that provides the safety-critical value on an output pin. The second processing path includes a second processing element and is coupled to receive a second input signal and to provide a second output signal. The first processing path and the second processing path are independent of each other. A smart comparator on the IC chip receives the first output signal and the second output signal and initiates a remedial action responsive to a difference between the first output signal and the second output signal reaching a configurable threshold.

  • Publication number: 20180321939
Abstract: Technology for providing data to a processing unit is disclosed. A computer processor may be divided into a master processing unit and consumer processing units. The master processing unit at least partially decodes a machine instruction and determines whether data is needed to execute the machine instruction. The master processing unit sends a request to memory for the data. The request may indicate that the data is to be sent from the memory to a consumer processing unit. The data sent by the memory in response to the request may be stored in local read storage that is close to the consumer processing unit for fast access. The master processing unit may also provide the machine instruction to the consumer processing unit. The consumer processing unit may access the data from the local read storage and execute the machine instruction based on the accessed data.
