Publication number: 20180177986Abstract: An adjustable catheter balloon is composed of an inflatable balloon, a flexible conduit and a handle. The inflatable balloon is attached to the distal end portion of the flexible conduit and the flexible conduit carries therewithin the core wire that moves independently within the flexible conduit and is moved using the handle. The balloon is inflated using a syringe that is connected to the handle which provides a relative movement of the core wire within the flexible conduit translating into changes in the length and contour of the balloon. This allows a diameter decrease of the adjustable catheter balloon and easier passage of the deflated balloon through a narrow working channel of an endoscopic device or a catheter. In addition we would have an increase in the diameter of the inflated balloon inside the body cavity by compressing the balloon longitudinally using the movement of the handle.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 25, 2016Publication date: June 28, 2018Inventor: Ashkan Farhadi

Patent number: 9993137Abstract: This invention relates generally to a diagnostic and therapeutic device. According to some aspects of the invention, the device may be composed of a flexible sheet that is wrapped around the endoscope shaft to form a flexible overtube. The overtube may include an inflatable positioning ring that may be inflated after placement of the overtube just proximal to the tip of the endoscope or colonoscope to secure the position of the overtube within the body cavity. The overtube also may include an inflatable sealing band within the internal surface of the overtube that when inflated create a seal around the endoscope shaft. According to other aspects of the invention, the device may be a catheter with an occlusion balloon at its free end portion that is carried by the overtube and extends beyond the tip of the endoscope. Inflation of the positioning ring, sealing band and occlusion balloon may define an examination compartment within the body cavity at the tip of the endoscope.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2014Date of Patent: June 12, 2018Inventor: Ashkan Farhadi

Patent number: 9867529Abstract: This invention relates generally to an endoscope accessory. This device uses an overtube with an inflatable positioning balloon that can be inflated after placement of the overtube just proximal to the tip of the endoscope or echoendoscope. This balloon creates a temporary blockade of the gastrointestinal tract proximal to the portion that needs to be examined. The other part of the device is a catheter with an occlusion balloon affixed to its free endportion and can be passed through a passageway within the overtube and extended beyond the tip of the endoscope, distal to the part of the gastrointestinal tract that needs to be examined. Inflation of this balloon together with positioning balloon creates a closed space within the body cavity that can be filled with air or water for improving the quality of the examination with regular endoscope of echoendoscope, respectively, while reducing the examination complications.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2008Date of Patent: January 16, 2018Assignee: IZOSCOPE INCInventor: Ashkan Farhadi
