Abstract: An expandable applicator system for applying a product to a surface. The expandable applicator system may include an expandable implement including a brush and an expandable tip. The expandable tip may be configured to move between a first unexpanded state and a second expanded state. A cap may be coupled to the expandable implement. Actuation of a mechanism at or near the cap move the expandable tip of the implement from a deflated state to an inflated state.

Abstract: A cosmetic packaging that is structured to hold and dispense a generally solid cosmetic product. The packaging may include a barrel and a package head. The packaging may further include an applicator comb coupled to the package head adjacent to an end region of the package head. The applicator comb may have a first end configured to be coupled the package head, an application end, and a lumen extending therebetween.

Abstract: Applicators for use in retrieving product (generally a liquid) from a reservoir, with an applicator for entry to the reservoir coupled to a cap. The cap is configured to be selectively actuated by including a squeezable element. Unlike “bulb” based devices having a cap in the common form of a bulb, a more modern look is created with a cylindrical or other cap shape. The cylindrical cap in one example has generally rigid sides with a squeezable or depressible element having an accordion-type design. The accordion-type design may be hidden from a user. In another example the cylindrical cap has a rigid top surface and is squeezable from its sides. In yet another example, the cylindrical cap is flexible on its sides and top, but does not have the commonly known bulb-shape. The applicator may be, for example, a diptube, a doefoot applicator, a sponge, a plastic, a brush, or any other suitable applicator for cosmetics.

Abstract: Disclosed is a cosmetic applicator system having interchangeable cosmetic products. A handle is provided with flexible prongs having mating portions for selectively engaging and disengaging one of a plurality of cosmetic products having a complementary mating portion. A base is provided for holding a plurality of the interchangeable cosmetics products in an arrangement that facilitates engagement and disengagement to allow the user to switch from one cosmetic product to another. The system is suitable for many cosmetics, particularly, eye shadow, lip balm, lipstick, cheek colorant, baked, hot poured, and dipped products.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of a vessel, particularly for cosmetics, such as a pot or compact, having an iris apparatus as a closure mechanism. Diaphragm and abutting type iris closures are disclosed for use as lids for containers for cosmetics.
