  • Publication number: 20260223335
Abstract: A system and method for continuous real-time monitoring of a primary chiller device of a pumped two-phase chiller system includes flow rate and outlet temperature sensors within the primary chiller device, continually sensing a flow rate and outlet temperature of a primary fluid refrigerant leaving the primary chiller device to circulate through a pumping unit and transfer heat absorbed from downstream IT devices (and, with respect to direct-to-chip (D2C) systems, downstream chip assemblies). The pumping unit controller receives the collected flow rate and outlet temperature data and, when the flow rate and/or outlet temperature deviates from acceptable ranges, e.g., too low a flow rate, too high an outlet temperature, detects an imminent failure of the primary chiller device and responds accordingly, e.g., requesting shutdown of the primary chiller device or the downstream IT devices.

  • Publication number: 20260185757
Abstract: A system and method for continuous real-time monitoring of charge levels, e.g., fluid refrigerant available within a refrigerant reservoir of a pumping apparatus for a cooling system (e.g., two-phase cooling system, direct-to-chip (D2C) cooling system), receives power data corresponding to a current load drawn by each server or information technology (IT) device served by the pumping apparatus. Based on the received power data, the controller infers the expected charge level, e.g., the proportion of fluid refrigerant that should be remaining within the refrigerant reservoir as opposed to circulating in the secondary fluid network of the cooling system, and compares the expected charge level to an actual current charge level sensed within the refrigerant reservoir, initiating a gentle system shutdown and/or generating an alert if the actual charge level sufficiently deviates from the expected charge level based on the received power data.

  • Publication number: 20260043592
Abstract: A cooling system and manifold receiver for use therein are provided. The cooling system includes a coolant loop configured to circulate a cooling medium, the loop including a heat exchanger, a plurality of conductive heat exchangers that are configured to receive the coolant medium from the heat exchanger and to exchange heat with a heat source, and a manifold receiver. The manifold receiver includes a body defining an elongated cavity therewithin, an inlet providing communication between the cavity and the conductive heat exchangers, an outlet providing communication between the cavity and the heat exchanger, and an element disposed in the cavity. The element is configured to reduce a momentum of the coolant medium within the cavity. The element may include, for example, an elongated pipe body with indentations, grooves, or holes formed therein, or with studs formed thereon.
