Abstract: A computer-implemented method for answering human queries received by a user includes receiving by a document processing module, a document from a document source; identifying by a document chunking engine of the document processing module, a first set of chapter headers contained in a table of contents of the document; identifying by the document chunking engine, a second set of chapter headers in a body of the document that is separate from the table of contents; matching by the document chunking engine one or more chapter headers of the first set of chapter headers with one or more chapter headers of the second set of chapter headers to provide a third set of matched chapter headers; dividing the document into a plurality of chunks based on the third set of matched chapter headers; and storing the plurality of chunks of the document in a datastore.
