  • Patent number: 11810475
Abstract: Education curricula materials include encoded indicia such as a QR code that contains information related to identifying requested augmented reality image data from a server over a network. By scanning the QR code, a computer uses its decoding software to create a data set for transmitting to the server. The data set may include an identifier for selected augmented reality image data associated with the user's curriculum, information about the curriculum at issue, the academic level of the user, and any other data necessary to ensure that the most appropriate augmented reality image data is transmitted back to the computer. The server transmits comprehensive augmented reality image data back to the computer for viewing on a computerized display accessible by a student. Part of the content may include an interactive pedagogical agent that helps the student with a part of the instruction related to a portion of the curriculum.

  • Publication number: 20230193772
Abstract: A method of machining cooling holes includes providing a workpiece in which a cooling hole is to be formed. The cooling hole, once formed, defines distinct first and second sections. The workpiece is secured in a fixture that is mounted in a first machine. In the first machine, a laser is used to drill a through-hole in a wall of the workpiece. The through-hole is spatially common to the first and second sections of the cooling hole. After drilling the through-hole, the fixture with the workpiece secured therein is removed from the first machine and mounted in a second machine. In the second machine, ultrasonic machining is used to expand a portion of the through-hole to form the second section. An abrasive slurry used in the process is drained through the through-hole during the ultrasonic machining.

  • Patent number: 11492800
Abstract: A fire blocking system for building panels includes a fireproof block held in place between two beams or studs on opposing fastener members. The fireproof block is preferably held adjacent a slab or other structure, and is preferably of the same thickness. Thus, fire and smoke is prevented from or at least delayed from passing from one side of the structure to the other through the building panel (e.g., from passing from one floor to the next). The fire blocking system reduces the use of fire proofing materials required for building panels, while simultaneously improving the fire blocking capabilities of the building panels to meet building codes for fire resistance.

  • Publication number: 20190328026
Abstract: A small batch roasting device including a base unit and a roasting chamber unit. The base unit includes a housing, a heating element, a fan, and a support surface. The housing defines an upper end, a lower end, and an isolation chamber open to the upper end. The heating element and the fan are within the housing, with the fan being positioned between the heating element and the lower end. The roasting chamber unit defines a roasting chamber, a leading region and a trailing region terminating at a trailing end. In an assembled state, a portion of the roasting chamber unit is disposed within the isolation chamber and the trailing portion is proximate the heating element. The roasting chamber unit is supported relative to the base unit by an interface with the support surface at a location longitudinally spaced from the trailing end.

  • Patent number: 8282501
Abstract: A putter-type golf club comprising an alignment system and a club head assembly. The putter-type club head has a body that is preferably composed of aluminum, with a rear weight disk and small inserts composed of a material denser than the material used for the remainder of the club head (excluding the neck of the club). The body has an alignment channel that is approximately the same width as a standard golf ball, and which runs from the face to the rear of the club head. In a preferred embodiment this alignment channel is black or dark in color with a white or light-colored border. The putter-type club has a neck that is inserted laterally through the side of the club head, such that it runs parallel to the face of the club head and for substantially the length of the face.
