  • Publication number: 20190222172
Abstract: An improved modular, removable system of building-integrated solar panel photovoltaics for easy residential and commercial roof installation for generating electrical and thermal energy.
    Type: Application
    Filed: January 18, 2018
    Publication date: July 18, 2019
    Inventors: Frank Pao, Ashley Thomas
  • Patent number: 9043909
Abstract: An intrusion prevention system includes a processor, processing engines, buffers that are associated with a different range of reputation scores, and a storage device having a database and an application. The processor executes the application to determine that a firewall has admitted a packet, determine a reputation score for the packet from the database, provide the packet to a buffer that has a reputation score range that includes the reputation score of the packet, provide the packet from the buffer to a processing engine, process the packet by in the processing engine to determine if the packet includes an exploit, and forward the packet to the protected network if the first packet does not include the exploit.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 2013
Date of Patent: May 26, 2015
    Assignee: Dell Products, LP
    Inventor: Ashley Thomas
  • Patent number: 8931095
Abstract: Communications can be processed with multiple countermeasures to identify attacks. Each countermeasure can compute a probability of a communication containing an attack and an accompanying confidence score indicating confidence in the probability. Combining the probabilities can produce a composite probability and associated confidence of the communication containing an attack. The composite probability and confidence scores can be produced from a weighted combination of the individual countermeasure probabilities and confidence scores. Weighting factors can be generated or obtained from a database that stores profiles of confirmed attacks.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 4, 2013
Date of Patent: January 6, 2015
    Assignee: Dell Products, LP
Inventors: Jon R. Ramsey, Jyotish S. Varma, Ashley Thomas, Kevin J. Schmidt, Joseph Neal Stewart, Rudy Alexander Ristich, Joan Pepin
  • Patent number: 8925091
Abstract: A security assurance system includes a back-end application and a computing resource. The back-end application receives a selection of a network security product that is associated with a protected network, and receives a selection of a threat from a plurality of threats stored on the security assurance system. The computing resource launches an evaluation of the security product based upon the threat, and reports to a user of the security assurance system a result of the evaluation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 1, 2011
Date of Patent: December 30, 2014
    Assignee: Dell Products, LP
    Inventors: Ashley Thomas, Ashwin Paranjpe
