  • Publication number: 20080116313
Abstract: A tape dispenser having a frame and a pair of opposed, unequal diameter hub mounts for rotatably mounting an adhesive tape roll thereon. A hub is provided for supporting the roll of tape thereon and for engaging the hub mounts. The hub comprises a generally cylindrical body having open ends of equal diameter. The diameter of these ends is large enough to engage the larger diameter hub mount but is too large to engage the smaller diameter hub mount. A ring adaptor is provided for insertion into one of the ends to effectively reduce the internal diameter of that end. The hub can therefore be oriented so that the adhesive side of the tape supported thereon will be facing downwardly when dispensed. The adaptor is inserted into the appropriate end of the hub body so that the hub is configured to engage the two unequal diameter hub mounts.

  • Publication number: 20060208045
Abstract: A packaging box including a lacquer layer applied in a band proximate an outer edge of the upper and side walls of the box. The box is manufactured from a high post recycled content material and the lacquer layer helps packaging tape to adhere to the box and seal the same. Security indicators are applied to one of the lacquer layer and packaging tape to identify whether or not the box has previously been opened by an unauthorized person. The security indicators are applied to the one of the lacquer layer and packaging tape in combination with a layer of release agent so that the security identifier can be revealed when the box has been opened.

  • Publication number: 20060086042
Abstract: A wrapper for an artificial firelog and an artificial firelog incorporating the same. The wrapper comprises a combustible outer layer and an inner layer having a plurality of air pockets enclosed therein. The inner and outer layers may be wrapped separately around the artificial firelog or they may be bonded together and then wrapped around the firelog. The air pockets of the inner layer may include scented material. As the wrapper burns along with the artificial firelog, the air in the air pockets of the inner layer expands and eventually the air pockets explode individually. The exploding air pockets emit a sound. If the air pockets include a scented material, the scented material is released when the air pockets explode.

  • Publication number: 20060068143
Abstract: An adhesive notepad comprising a plurality of sheets of notepaper with first and second adhesive regions applied to the rear surface thereof. The second adhesive region is disposed at a spaced junction from the first adhesive region and is oriented to allow substantially the entire length of the rear surface of a sheet of notepaper to lie substantially in abutting contact with an outer surface of an object to which the sheet is applied.

  • Publication number: 20060068145
Abstract: An adhesive notepad comprising a plurality of sheets of notepaper, each of which include a front surface and a rear surface having an adhesive strip applied thereto. Each sheet further includes a line of perforations which allow the sheet to be separated into two smaller sections. The perforations are positioned in such a manner that one of the smaller sections will include the adhesive strip and the other smaller section will be adhesive free. This allows the sheet of notepaper to be used both as a sticky note and as a small piece of adhesive free paper.

  • Publication number: 20060062956
Abstract: An adhesive note comprising a sheet with an adhesive region on its rear surface and including a line of perforations passing through the adhesive region. The sheet may be divided along the line of perforations to form two smaller sections which each have an adhesive area on their rear surface. Each smaller section may be adhered to an outer surface of an object by the adhesive area on its rear surface. Furthermore, the adhesive note may be provided with more than one line of perforations which pass through the adhesive region, thus enabling the sheet to be separated into a plurality of smaller sections. Each smaller section has an adhesive area on its rear surface. Alternatively, the sheet may be provided with more than one adhesive region. The plurality of adhesive regions may be applied to the rear surface of the sheet on either side of the line of perforations.

  • Publication number: 20060064312
Abstract: A method and system for providing time sensitive information by applying an advertisement to an outer surface of a plurality of individual pieces of mail. The advertisement is applied to the individual pieces of mail by either printing it directly onto the outer surface or by adhesively applying a label thereto. The advertiser selects the area to which he wishes to advertise and the advertisement is placed on the mail at the postal station either when the mail is sorted or after the mail is sorted for that zip code or area. Once the individual pieces of mail have the advertisement applied thereto, they are distributed through the postal service's normal channels.

  • Publication number: 20060016123
Abstract: An artificial firelog includes combustible particulate material, binder material, a plurality of pellets for producing a crackling sound and chemical additives for simultaneously producing a colored flame as the firelog burns. The pellets are seeds that make up between 1 and 10% by weight of the firelog. The chemical additives are copper sulphate and ammonium chloride. The crackling sound and colored flame are maintained substantially throughout the entire combustion of the artificial firelog.

  • Publication number: 20060013922
Abstract: A laminated cookie product having a pair of outer layers which are more liquid absorbent than an inner layer when dunked in a liquid. The inner layer maintains the shape and integrity of the cookie as the outer layer absorbs more of the liquid. A plurality of indicia is provided on the cookie including a plurality of spaced line which indicates the length of the cookie immersed in a liquid and/or the amount of calories contained in the cookie between a selected indicia line and the bottom of the cookie. Aligned recesses are formed in an upper end of the cookie to facilitate gripping the cookie for dunking in a liquid.

  • Patent number: 6920979
Abstract: A tape dispenser and a hang tag for use therewith are disclosed. The tape dispenser includes a front and back that are joined together to form a housing that holds a roll of adhesive tape. A hang tag is provided to attach the tape dispenser to a display board. The hang tag is secured within the housing and it includes a tab section and a lower section. The lower section has the same shape as the housing and it is secured within the housing. The tab is connected to the lower section and extends from the upper surface of the housing. The tab includes an aperture for receiving a hook for hanging the tape dispenser onto a display board. The tab also includes perforations for allowing the tab to be separated from the lower section after purchase of the tape dispenser. The tab is substantially smaller than the lower section or the housing thereby reducing the overall size of the product to be either transported or displayed.

  • Patent number: 6874554
Abstract: A tape dispenser having a frame, a cutter blade and at least one pair of projections disposed on the opposed interior surfaces of the side walls is disclosed. The distance between the projections is less than the distance between the interior surfaces of the side walls and is also less than the width of the tape held in the dispenser. The tape dispenser may also include a pair of tabs either associated with the projections or positioned between the projections and the tape mount. The dispenser is adapted to hold a roll of adhesive tape therein and because of the decreased distance between the projections, the tape assumes a convex shape when viewed from the front end of the dispenser. The shape of the tape and position of the tabs and projections causes the tape to be biased into contact with the interior of the front end of the dispenser. This helps to keep the free end of the tape out of contact with the roll in the dispenser.

  • Patent number: 6871644
Abstract: A firelog grate for retaining fire starters is disclosed. The grate has a front member and a rear member connected together by a transverse bars to form a cradle for holding firelogs. Pairs of legs extend down from the cradle and firelog retaining projections extend upward from the upper surface of the cradle. The rear member of the grate has a plurality of projections that extend upwardly from the cradle and the bars are disposed at ninety degrees to the projections. The bars have a wider section connected to the rear member and a narrower section connected to the front member. The wider sections of the bars are adapted to receive a firelog thereon. When a paper-wrapped artificial firelog is placed on the grate, the wider sections of the bars push the wrapper into contact with the bottom surface of the firelog and the projections push the paper wrapper into contact with the rear surface of the firelog.
