  • Publication number: 20190279126
Abstract: A planning and scheduling system, which handles generation of a global workflow sequence for multiple workflow stages of a workflow unit, determines a first workflow sequence for a primary workflow stage of the workflow unit for a plurality of product items. The one or more second workflow sequences are generated for one or more secondary workflow stages of the workflow unit concurrently based on a transformation of the determined first workflow sequence. A global workflow sequence is obtained for the primary workflow stage and the one or more secondary workflow stages based on at least the determined first workflow sequence for the primary workflow stage and the generated one or more second workflow sequences. A set of operations for the plurality of product items is executed based on the obtained global workflow sequence to maximize a performance score for the executed set of operations on the plurality of product items.

  • Patent number: 8509925
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for generating an optimized solution for a process in a manufacturing under a set of constraints. A solution is evaluated under the set of constraints and first violation metrics and first states corresponding to one or more solution elements are generated, based on at least one constraint. At least one candidate solution is generated from the solution. Thereafter, the candidate solution is evaluated at one or more change-points and the solution elements positioned subsequent to the change points. Subsequently, the candidate solution is accepted based on the acceptance criterion. The selected candidate solution is then evaluated again a pre-defined number of times to generate the optimized solution.

  • Publication number: 20090222123
Abstract: A method and system for generating/regenerating a schedule of a set of events associated with at least one process in a manufacturing plant in real time. The schedule is generated/regenerated on the basis of the occurrence of one or more events associated with various processes in real time. The occurrence of each of the events is monitored continuously. Thereafter, the occurrence of the monitored events is predicted for one or more predefined instances of time. The schedule is optimized on the basis of the predicted occurrences of the monitored events to generate/regenerate the schedule. The optimized schedule may be used to control one or more automatons.

  • Publication number: 20060101052
Abstract: A method and system as well as a computer program product for generating an optimized production sequence and schedule is provided. The method includes generation of a job object, a constraint object, a slot object and a parameters object that are used to generate the optimized production sequence and schedule. The system includes a configurable layer that stores the objects and a core product layer that generates the optimized sequence and schedule using the objects generated. The system may be used in conjunction with a variety of known optimization methodologies.

  • Publication number: 20060095484
Abstract: This invention provides a method and system for solving an optimization problem under a set of constraints. A set of solutions is evaluated under the set of constraints. Initial violation metrics and states are generated, based on at least one constraint corresponding to the solutions violating the constraints. A set of candidate solutions is generated from the existing set of solutions by a set of operators. The set of candidate solutions is incrementally evaluated in a manner that is independent of the operators and the constraint. In case an evaluated solution is accepted, the violation metrics and states are updated on the basis of the accepted solution. However, if the evaluated solution is not accepted, a next candidate solution is incrementally evaluated. This process is repeated till all the candidate solutions are not checked for acceptance. Finally, the method terminates if a stopping criterion is met.
