Patent number: 9010712Abstract: A seat track assembly for moving a seat assembly includes a fixed track and a movable track. A first slide member is slidably coupled to the movable track and slides between first and second positions. The first slide member slides from the first position to the second position in response to pivoting a seat back to a folded position thereby actuating a latch mechanism to an unlocking position and pivoting a hook lever to a raised position allowing movement of the seat assembly from a comfort range to an easy entry position. The first slide member slides from the second position to the first position in response to the first slide member engaging a rearward stop at a rearward end of the comfort range thereby actuating the latch mechanism to a locking position and pivoting the hook lever to lowered position.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2010Date of Patent: April 21, 2015Assignee: Magna Seating Inc.Inventors: Donald W Gray, Jeffrey P Carroll, Ashok K Sahi

Patent number: 7686397Abstract: A seat assembly for an automotive includes a seat cushion and a seat back pivotally coupled to the seat cushion. A riser mechanism extends between the seat cushion and a vehicle floor. The riser mechanism includes spaced apart front, center, and rear legs each pivotally movable at opposing upper and lower ends. A latch mechanism is operably coupled to each of the center legs for movement between a latched position preventing movement of the front, center, and rear legs relative to the floor and an unlatch position allowing pivotal movement of each of the front, center, and rear legs relative to the floor for moving the seat assembly between a seating position and at least one of an easy entry and forwardly dumped positions.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 2005Date of Patent: March 30, 2010Assignee: Intier Automotive Inc.Inventor: Ashok K. Patent number: 7021716Abstract: The seat assembly comprises a seat cushion (12) and a seat back (14). A recliner assembly (16) operatively interconnects the seat cushion and the seat back for selective locking and adjustment of the seat back between a plurality of reclined seating positions (B) and a stowed position (D). A stop (40) is pivotally mounted to the seat cushion for movement between first and second positions. The stop includes a hook (44) presented for engagement with the seat back when the stop is in the second position for maintaining the seat back in a tilted position (G) between the plurality of reclined seating positions (B) and the stowed position (D). When the stop (40) is in the first position, the seat back may be adjusted between the plurality of reclined seating positions (B.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2002Date of Patent: April 4, 2006Assignee: Intier Automotive Inc.Inventors: Rabindranath Persad, Rommel Diones, Stephen P. Patent number: 6905173Abstract: A seat assembly comprising a seat cushion, a seat back and a recliner assembly operatively interconnecting the seat back to the seat cushion. The recliner assembly allows pivotal adjustment of the seat back relative to the seat cushion between one of a plurality of reclined seating positions and a stowed position. The recliner assembly is selectively moveable between locked and unlocked states. An input shaft is operatively assembled to the recliner assembly for switching the recliner assembly between the locked and unlocked states. The seat assembly further comprising a mechanism externally engagable with the input shaft of the recliner assembly for adjusting the angular position of the seat back in one of the reclined seating positions and for maintaining the input shaft in the unlocked position while the seat back is pivoted from one of the reclined seating positions to the stowed position.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2001Date of Patent: June 14, 2005Assignee: Magna Seating Systems Inc.Inventors: Omar D. Patent number: 5207480Abstract: A manually-operable six-way seat adjustment mechanism having a pair of laterally spaced tracks which are fixed securely to the vehicle's floor pan. A pair of carriages are slidably coupled to the tracks and are operable for synchronous longitudinal movement thereon. A seat assembly is fixedly secured to seat frame members supported from the elongated carriages for longitudinal movement therewith. A horizontal adjustment mechanism is operatively interconnected between each of the tracks and carriages to enable a seat occupant to selectively adjust the longitudinal position of the assembly. The manually-operable six-way seat adjustment mechanism also includes a front vertical adjustment mechanism and a rear vertical adjustment mechanism which are each operably interconnected between the laterally spaced seat frame members and the carriages to enable selective and independent vertical adjustment of their respective front and rear portions of the seat assembly.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1991Date of Patent: May 4, 1993Assignee: Douglas & Lomason CompanyInventors: Richard F.
