  • Patent number: 6257699
Abstract: A printing device having a print carriage assembly that reduces a carriage excursion along a carriage scan axis and/or reduces a width of a printing flat zone along a media feed axis, is disclosed. The print carriage assembly has a frame that traverses across a media along a carriage scan axis. The media travels along a media feed axis that is substantially perpendicular to the carriage scan axis. A first print cartridge subassembly includes a first base secured to the frame and a plurality of first print elements secured to the first base. Each of the first print elements includes a first nozzle array for ejecting an ink composition. The plurality of first print elements are spaced apart along the carriage scan axis and are offset along the media feed axis. A second print cartridge subassembly includes a second base secured to the frame and a plurality of second print elements secured to the second base. Each of the second print elements have a second nozzle array for ejecting an ink composition.

  • Patent number: 5539511
Abstract: A sheet decurler such as may be used to decurl liquid or solid toned printed or copied sheets. The decurler has an extended multidirectional nip having first and second decurling members for removing multiple curl conditions from a sheet.

  • Patent number: 5480285
Abstract: A steam turbine blade having an airfoil portion and root portion by which the blade is affixed to a rotor. The geometry of the blade airfoil is configured to minimize energy loss through the row of blades and reduce the weight of the airfoil. The airfoil has a leading edge and a trailing edge defining a chord therebetween. The chord is reduced linearly from the base of the airfoil to 50% of the airfoil height. However, the chord remains essentially constant from 50% of the airfoil height to the airfoil tip. The root is fir tree shaped and has four sets of tangs and grooves that are configured to minimize the stresses in the root.

  • Patent number: 5169141
Abstract: A registration transport and transfer module is located in a retractable drawer having a camshaft actuated by a lever. Rotation of the lever turns the cam which cooperates with a mounting to enable the transfer module to be lowered beneath a photoconductive belt. The drawer may then be pulled away from the machine and the transfer module pivoted about a point so as to expose portions of the copy sheet path for jam clearance.

  • Patent number: 5161942
Abstract: A honeycomb seal cooperatively associated with a rotatable blade of a steam turbine having a cylinder, seal include a backing plate fixedly connected to a mounting portion of the cylinder, the mounting portion having an associated moisture removal channel. A plurality of rows of honeycomb cells extend radially inwardly from the backing plate so that each cell is open adjacent said blades. The said backing plate is perforated with at least one perforation for each honeycomb cell for communicating moisture collected in the honeycomb cells to the moisture removal channel of the mounting portion of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5088894
Abstract: Crack formation in the root portion of a turbine blade is prevented by locating the trailing edge of the air foil portion at the base section thereof in close vertical proximity to the uppermost root neck, thus minimizing trailing edge overhang which has been determined to be the cause of root tracking.

  • Patent number: 4900230
Abstract: Replacement low pressure end blading for a utility power steam turbine having an extended length compared to original equipment end blading providing higher efficiency. The blading incorporates extended flat areas on the blade trailing edge for improved flow characteristics and reduced losses. Mass distribution is used to tune the blade to avoid natural harmonic frequencies coincidental with turbine rotational frequencies or harmonics thereof. Blade root modifications are included to facilitate installation.
