  • Patent number: 7556216
Abstract: A tape dispenser having a frame and a pair of opposed, unequal diameter hub mounts for rotatably mounting an adhesive tape roll thereon. A hub is provided for supporting the roll of tape thereon and for engaging the hub mounts. The hub comprises a generally cylindrical body having open ends of equal diameter. The diameter of these ends is large enough to engage the larger diameter hub mount but is too large to engage the smaller diameter hub mount. A ring adaptor is provided for insertion into one of the ends to effectively reduce the internal diameter of that end. The hub can therefore be oriented so that the adhesive side of the tape supported thereon will be facing downwardly when dispensed. The adaptor is inserted into the appropriate end of the hub body so that the hub is configured to engage the two unequal diameter hub mounts.

  • Publication number: 20080010898
Abstract: A pellet manufactured from a porous combustible material which is infused with a combustible liquid accelerant. The pellet is preferably made from wood shavings, crushed cocoa shells or coffee grounds that are compressed together. The compressed materials are then soaked in a liquid accelerant, such as a petroleum product, or sprayed with a petroleum product. This results in a pellet that has only an outermost layer that includes the accelerant or the entire pellet is saturated with the accelerant. The pellets are then poured over the wood or briquettes that are to be burned and they tend to filter into the spaces between the wood logs or briquettes. The accelerant is volatile and consequently when a flame is applied to one or more pellets they ignite quickly and the flames spread rapidly from one pellet to another and thereby to the wood logs or briquettes that they surround.

  • Patent number: 7093640
Abstract: A tape dispenser having a frame, a cutter blade and a non-rotatable pressure pad is disclosed. The dispenser holds a roll of adhesive tape therein. The cutter blade and pressure pad are secured together and are snap-fitted into the frame so that the blade extends a short distance beyond the front edge of the frame. The pressure pad applies pressure to the adhesive tape as it is being dispensed from the tape dispenser. The frame has side walls that each have a tab formed thereon. The tabs are positioned a short distance to the rear of the pressure pad and they do not extend below the lower edge of the side walls of the dispenser. The tabs are positioned and shaped in such a manner that tape from the roll is supported on the top surface of the tabs. The tape is biased into contact with the pressure pad by the tabs so that the tape is ready to be dispensed from the roll and is prevented from curling back onto the roll when cut.

  • Patent number: 6913060
Abstract: An adhesive tape dispenser having an improved mechanism for gripping the device while dispensing tape. The dispenser has spaced apart side walls and an upper wall connected thereto. The upper wall has a leading edge that is provided with a blade for cutting the adhesive tape. The upper wall is also provided with a shallow recess for placement of the index finger of the user. The recess may include a plurality of corrugations. The position of the recess allows the user to have both an improved grip on the dispenser and to apply directed pressure to the upper wall thereby allowing the tape to be cut more easily. The upper wall of the dispenser is also provided with wings that offer increased protection to the palm of the user's hand so that the rotating roll of tape does not cause injury to the user.
