    Abstract: A polycarbonate headlight lens cleaning and restoring kit has a lens cleaning composition, an applicator wipe; and a lens restoring composition comprising a coating component. The polycarbonate cleaning composition contains only liquid components and is free of water. The cleaning composition has a first solvent that softens a Control Polycarbonate Substrate and has a flash point of from ?58 F to 220 F; and a second solvent that does not soften a Control Polycarbonate Substrate. The first solvent and the second solvent are present in an amount effective to substantially remove discoloring contaminants from a polycarbonate headlight lens and the polycarbonate lens, and also in an amount so that, after removal of the discoloring contaminants, the polycarbonate headlight lens can be restored to a clear condition. A method of cleaning and restoring a polycarbonate headlight lens that is at least partially discolored from discoloring contaminants is also provided.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides cleaning compositions having improved vertical cling. In particular, this disclosure relates to sprayable cleaning compositions containing at least one polysaccharide that are useful for cleaning vertical or inclined surfaces. This disclosure provides cleaning compositions that contain a rheology modifier in an amount of about 0.1 weight percent to about 1 weight percent (i.e., a polysaccharide), an alkalinity source (e.g., chelating agent) in an amount of about 1 weight percent to about 8 weight percent, a surfactant in an amount of about 0.3 weight percent to about 5 weight percent, and water in an amount of about 80 weight percent to about 98 weight percent. The cleaning compositions have a viscosity from about 200 cps to about 1000 cps and exhibit a Vertical Cling time of greater than about 5 minutes. The cleaning compositions effectively remove organic and inorganic soils from wheel, tire and automotive surfaces.

    Abstract: A water-based composition for enhancing shine or gloss in an elastomeric surface is in the form of a stable aqueous dispersion having a pH of from about 6 to about 7 and containing by weight: (a) less than 10% of at least one polydiorganosiloxane fluid; (b) from about 0.02% to about 2.0% of an alkali-swellable acrylic homopolymer or copolymer crosslinked with a polyalkenyl polyether; and (c) water. In one embodiment, the composition contains less than 1% by weight of a wetting agent and has no additional surfactants, hydrotropes and emulsifying agents. The composition can be used to enhance shine or gloss in elastomeric surfaces such as rubber or vinyl, preferably automotive tires, by applying an effective amount of the composition to the surface and distributing the composition with an application implement. The composition contains less organopolysiloxane than commercial formulations but exhibits gloss-enhancing performance that is comparable or even higher than that exhibited by commercial compositions.
