  • Patent number: 9451771
Abstract: A composition (useful for attracting Halyomorpha halys) containing (3R,6R,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3R,6R,7R,10R)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3S,6S,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3S,6S,7R,10R)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, and optionally a carrier material or carrier. The composition may also contain (3R,6S,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3R,6S,7R,10R)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3S,6R,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3S,6R,7R,10R)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol where the composition contains a 3:1 ratio of cis-epoxybisabolenols:trans-epoxybisabolenols produced from (R)-citronellal. These compositions were based on the newly discovered aggregation pheromone components: (3S,6S,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol and (3R,6S,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol. The composition may also contain methyl(2E,4E,6Z)-decatrieonate.

  • Patent number: 8663621
Abstract: An unsaturated hydroxyl-ester pheromone for the neotropical root weevil Diaprepes abbreviatus has been isolated, identified and synthesized. It is useful for trapping the weevil to reduce or prevent damage to plants.

  • Patent number: 7230143
Abstract: A method in which organic matter found in a crude sevoflurane may be separated, identified, and quantified using a CARBOWAX™ (polyethylene glycol) capillary gas chromatographic column or an alkyl polysiloxane capillary gas chromatographic column. Also provided is a process control method for the production of sevoflurane, wherein the content of a particular component in one of the following steps is determined, and in that, assuming this as a variable, the treatment condition of the step is adjusted: 1) a step of extracting, or cooling to form two layers, and/or distilling a mixture of crude sevoflurane and hydrogen fluoride (HF) in order to isolate the majority of the sevoflurane and 2) an optional step of purifying the crude sevoflurane and 3) a step of distilling crude sevoflurane. Also provided is a method for determining the impurity level of a purified sevoflurane that is acceptable for use in human/animal anesthesia.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 4, 2005
Date of Patent: June 12, 2007
    Assignee: Halocarbon Products Corporation
Inventors: Barry Jones, Ashot Khrimian, Joel Swinson, Paul Cross

  • Patent number: 6777573
Abstract: A method has been developed for the preparation of ceralure B1, a potent attractant for the Mediterranean fruit fly. The method utilizes trans-siglure acid as starting material to produce iodolactone which is subsequently reduced to lactone. The lactone is converted to a mixture of epimers ceralure A acid and ceralure B1 acid. The ceralure A acid is recyclized to lactone, leaving epimer ceralure B1 acid intact. Following separation from lactone, the ceralure B1 acid is esterified to produce ceralure B1 of about 92-94% purity. The overall yield is about 58-65%, a significant improvement over currently known methods which result in yields of about 30-33%.
