In some embodiments, the method may comprise storing, by a mobile device, a first data sample from an accelerometer sensor and a second data sample from a gyroscope sensor. Additionally, the method may comprise processing a plurality of data samples. The plurality of data samples can include the first data sample or the second data sample. Optionally, in one embodiment, the method may comprise suppressing a tap that has been classified as a false detection based on at least one of the plurality of data samples. Subsequently, the method may comprise determining an occurrence of a tap at a mobile device based on the results of the processing.

    Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for identifying an event for a particular category. The method classifies several documents as relevant to several different categories. The method identifies a number of documents relevant to the particular category for a current time period and a background time period. Based on a comparison of the number of documents from the current time period relevant to the particular category and the number of documents from the background time period relevant to the particular category, the method identifies an event for the category for the current time period. Some embodiments calculated a score for the event, and normalize the score based on an average number of documents relevant to each of a set of related categories including the particular category.

The method identifies an event for a particular category based on a number of documents classified as relevant to the particular category in a particular period of time. Based on content of the documents classified as relevant to the particular category, the method identifies a set of keywords for the event. The method uses the keywords to automatically select a representative document for the event. Some embodiments store a link to the representative document and automatically determine whether the particular document is still accessible at the link. When the document is no longer accessible at the link, the method replaces the document with a backup document as the representative document for the event.

At least some of the detector components are configured to detect x-rays. A liquid cooled thermal control system is provided having cooling channels in thermal communication with the detector rail. The cooling channels have a cooling fluid flowing therethrough to control a temperature of the detector components in response to one or more disturbances that changes a temperature of the x-ray detector. A control module is also provided in the liquid cooled thermal control system to adjust parameters of the liquid cooled thermal control system in response to the disturbances.

    Abstract: A lamp having a lighting source, integral electronics, and a thermal distribution mechanism disposed in a housing. The thermal distribution mechanism may include a variety of insulative, radiative, conductive, and convective heat distribution techniques. For example, the lamp may include a thermal shield between the lighting source and the integral electronics. The lamp also may have a forced convection mechanism, such as an air-moving device, disposed adjacent the integral electronics. A heat pipe, a heat sink, or another conductive heat transfer member also may be disposed in thermal communication with one or more of the integral electronics. For example, the integral electronics may be mounted to a thermally conductive board. The housing itself also may be thermally conductive to conductively spread the heat and convect/radiate the heat away from the lamp.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing an improved heading estimate of a mobile device in a vehicle is presented. First, the mobile device determines if it is mounted in a cradle attached to the vehicle; if so, inertia sensor data may be valid. While in a mounted stated, the mobile device determines whether it has been rotated in the cradle; if so, inertia sensor data may no longer be reliable and a recalibration to determine a new relative orientation between the vehicle and the mobile device is needed. If the mobile device is mounted and not recently rotated, heading data from multiple sensors (e.g., GPS, gyroscope, accelerometer) may be computed and combined to form the improved heading estimate. This improved heading estimate may be used to form an improved velocity estimate. The improved heading estimate may also be used to compute a bias to correct a gyroscope.

This score value is based in part on the path type of the candidate path relationship.
