  • Patent number: 10405172
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A source user equipment (UE) may determine which subscriber identity module (SIM) card to use based on information of the target UE. For example, the target UE may have poor call quality using a first SIM, but high call quality when using a second SIM. The target UE may indicate the call quality for each SIM in subscription information to the source UE. The source UE may determine to use the second SIM of the target UE instead of the first SIM, resulting in higher call quality for the target UE. The subscription information may include a variety of information related to the target UE, such as subscriptions of the target UE, RAT availabilities for the target UE, etc. The target UE may also configure settings for receiving or rejecting data calls. The target UE may configure whether to receive data calls based on connectivity parameters.

  • Publication number: 20190075069
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for behaviorally modelled smart notifications are provided. The apparatus analyzes first information associated with at least one user of an apparatus, and analyzes second information associated with a message received on the apparatus. The further compares the first information with the second information, and generates an alert instruction for indicating that the message is received, the alert instruction including one or more characteristics of an alert, the one or more characteristics being based on a result of the comparing. In an aspect, the apparatus may be configured to generate the alert based on the alert instruction.

  • Publication number: 20180310236
Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. For example, the apparatus may display a set of communication parameters associated with initiating a wireless communication using a first communication network associated with the first SIM card and a second communication network associated with the second SIM card. The apparatus may also receive a first selection of at least one first communication parameter of the set of communication parameters to display for each of the first network associated with the first SIM card and the second communication network associated with the second SIM card. The apparatus may further maintain the first selection of the at least one first communication parameter of the set of communication parameters to display for each of the first network associated with the first SIM card and the second communication network associated with the second SIM card.

  • Patent number: 10097499
Abstract: The security and privacy are very important aspects of communication. Many technologies have been developed to keeping private messages secure while being transmitted from the sender to the receiver. However, the privacy of the messages can be compromised by notifications of the messages at the receiver. For example, a third party may see a visual notification of private text message displayed on a receiving device, such as a smart phone. Provided herein is an apparatus that receives a message, determines a privacy level of the message, selects a mode of notification of the message based on the determined privacy level of the message, and performs a notification action based on the selected mode of notification.

  • Publication number: 20180239885
Abstract: The apparatus of the disclosure provides a solution to the inconvenience currently faced while accessing the most frequently used applications by opening the most common application(s) using biometric authentication. For example, the apparatus may associate at least one biometric to a set of applications. The apparatus may detect a first interaction with the UE when the UE is in a locked mode. The apparatus may display a plurality of icons in a biometric area based on the first interaction. The apparatus may detect a second interaction with one of the plurality of icons displayed in the biometric area. The apparatus may determine if the at least one biometric is authenticated based on the second interaction. The apparatus may open an application associated with the one of the plurality of icons and unlocking the UE when the at least one biometric is authenticated.

  • Patent number: 10013864
Abstract: With the Internet of Things, many devices and/or objects may be connected to each other using any number of wired or wireless technologies. A user may forget a that may be relevant to an upcoming event. The user may benefit from a mechanism that notifies the user when an event is upcoming in which a specific device or object may be germane but is not proximate to the user. Accordingly, an apparatus may identify a set of device types associated with an upcoming event. The apparatus may determine a device type of the set of device types is disconnected from the apparatus. The apparatus may select a device from a set of devices associated with the at least one device type based on a subset of a set of parameters. The apparatus may provide an indication of the selected device associated with the at least one device type.
