  • Publication number: 20230277275
Abstract: A marker delivery device includes a handle, an elongate cannula, a push rod assembly, and a plunger. The handle includes a first bore disposed within a portion of the handle. The elongate cannula extends distally from the handle along a longitudinal axis. The push rod assembly includes a mating feature. The push rod assembly is disposed within the first bore and extends distally through the cannula. The plunger is disposed within the first bore proximally of the push rod assembly and includes an engagement feature. The engagement feature is removably coupled to the mating feature. The engagement feature is configured to de-couple from the mating feature when the plunger translates the push rod assembly distally.

  • Publication number: 20070232927
Abstract: Several embodiments of medical ultrasound handpieces are described each including a medical ultrasound transducer assembly. An embodiment of a medical ultrasound system is described, wherein the medical ultrasound system includes a medical ultrasound handpiece having a medical ultrasound transducer assembly and includes an ultrasonically-vibratable medical-treatment instrument which is attachable to a distal end of the transducer assembly. An embodiment of a medical ultrasound system is described, wherein the medical ultrasound system has a handpiece including a medical ultrasound transducer assembly and including a housing or housing component surrounding the transducer assembly. A method for tuning a medical ultrasound handpiece includes machining at least a distal non-threaded portion of an instrument-attachment stud of the transducer assembly to match a measured fundamental frequency to a desired fundamental frequency to within a predetermined limit.

  • Publication number: 20070191713
Abstract: An ultrasonic clamp coagulator assembly that is configured to permit selective cutting, coagulation, and fine dissection required in fine and delicate surgical procedures. The assembly includes a clamping mechanism, including a clamp arm cam-mounted at the distal portion of the instrument, which is specifically configured to create a desired level of tissue clamping forces. The balanced blade provides a functional asymmetry for improved visibility at the blade tip and a multitude of edges and surfaces, designed to provide a multitude of tissue effects: clamped coagulation, clamped cutting, grasping, back-cutting, dissection, spot coagulation, tip penetration and tip scoring. The assembly also features hand activation configured to provide an ergonomical grip and operation for the surgeon. Hand switches are placed in the range of the natural axial motion of the user's index or middle fingers, whether gripping the surgical instrument right-handed or left handed.
