  • Publication number: 20240123252
Abstract: The present invention provides a lighting fixture comprising a combination of LEDs capable of radiating in the visible wavelengths or UV wavelengths and a reflector to obtain a particular beam angle of light/radiation, features/design of which provides safe levels of UV radiation over a period of time to promote vitamin D production upon contact with exposed skin surface. The lighting fixture of the present invention is particularly suitable for indoor areas such as office spaces, where people spend anywhere from 6-10 hours without exposure to sun, which is a major source of radiation for vitamin D production in the body. The lighting fixture of the present invention addresses the issue of chronic/endemic vitamin D deficiency in the Indian population and provides a cheap, effective and safe way to obtain daily vitamin D dosage and its health benefits.

  • Publication number: 20210374305
Abstract: Optical fiber network or fiber network is used for transmitting large volumes of data with maximum speed. Fiber to home is a recent technology of the fiber network where the initial fiber rollout cost is more. Hence a proper network management is necessary to rollout the fiber network in an optimized manner. Conventional methods provides construction led approach for fiber network planning and field survey. The present disclosure receives a plurality of geocoded addresses associated with a plurality of users and an average revenue per user. A fiber rollout cost projection is performed based on the input data and a fiber network is generated based on the projected fiber rollout cost. Further, field survey is performed based on the generated network and a fiber network construction design is made. Further, a fiber network rollout is performed based on the fiber network construction design and a redline deviation markup.

  • Publication number: 20110280795
Abstract: A method and system are presented for the combustion of hydrogen sulfide mixed with other gases for simultaneous recovery of sulfur and energy from hydrogen sulfide at higher efficiency. The amounts and velocity of the hydrogen sulfide into the reactor is selected in such a way that it is not possible to burn the hydrogen sulfide in a normal thin reaction zone during its combustion that normally prevails in almost all flame combustion devices. The injected hydrogen sulfide gas is mixed in a thermal reactor with fresh air and hot active combustion gases in the reactor on account of internal jet pump effect and self-induced entrainment. The reaction is exothermic so that the chemical energy present in hydrogen sulfide is recovered together with the sulfur that is tapped off from he process. The reactor process can also be used for other gas and chemicals that require controlled reactor thermo-chemical environment.

  • Publication number: 20050186658
Abstract: The present invention provides chimeric receptors that include an extracellular domain from a metabotropic glutamate receptor and a non-native signal peptide, e.g., a calcium receptor signal peptide. The invention also includes methods of preparing such chimeric receptors, and methods of using such receptors to identify and characterize compounds which modulate the activity of metabotropic glutamate receptors. The invention also relates to compounds and methods for modulating metabotropic glutamate receptor activity and binding to metabotropic glutamate receptors. Modulation of metabotropic glutamate receptor activity can be used for different purposes such as treating neurological disorders and diseases, inducing an analgesic effect, cognition enhancement, and inducing a muscle-relaxant effect.

  • Patent number: 6035393
Abstract: A computer system includes an instruction prefetching mechanism that detects whether an instruction to be prefetched is located in a region of memory that is uncacheable. To perform an instruction prefetch, an instruction fetch unit (IFU) receives an instruction pointer indicating a memory location containing an instruction to be prefetched. The instruction pointer may be provided by a branch target buffer (BTB) as a result of a branch prediction, or by auxiliary branch prediction mechanisms, or actual execution. The IFU accesses an instruction translation look-aside buffer (ITLB) to determine both the physical address corresponding to the linear address of the instruction pointer and to determine an associated memory type stored therein. If the memory type indicates an uncacheable memory location, the IFU waits until all previous executed instructions have completed. The IFU does this by inserting a "permission-to-fetch" instruction, and then stalling.
