  • Publication number: 20110191247
Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating parties involved in a transaction are disclosed. Some embodiments of the disclosure are directed to systems and methods for authenticating various identification attributes of a participant in a transaction. The attributes can include items such as the participant's name, address, social security number, date of birth, or any other identifying attributes. In some embodiments, all participants in a transaction may have identification information authenticated. The 3-D Secure protocol and framework is extended and enhanced to provide the ability to authenticate the identification details of participants in transactions.

  • Publication number: 20100318783
Abstract: Systems and methods for service activation using algorithmically defined keys are disclosed. A consumer who has a relationship with a first party may wish to enroll in a service provided by a third party. The first party can maintain control of such enrollments through the use of algorithmically defined keys. The algorithmically defined keys also allow the third party service provider to verify data provided by the consumer as matching data stored by the first party. The verification provides for data synchronization without requiring the third party to have access to the first parties data systems.

  • Patent number: 7815111
Abstract: A system and method for managing one or more applications deployed on a mobile electronic device, such as a cellular phone, are disclosed. The system and method enable the user of a mobile electronic device to select one of a plurality of applications deployed on the mobile electronic device for use in a transaction and to authenticate himself or herself prior to initiating the transaction. The transaction may occur via a wireless interface and/or a contact-based interface. In addition, the system and method allow the user to manage applications deployed on a mobile electronic device, including adding new applications, designating nicknames for the applications and setting security codes for each application.

  • Patent number: 7443792
Abstract: A method and system for selecting connections to bump based on priority in a network. The present invention describes a method for selecting connections to bump in a network to accommodate an incoming connection. The method begins by receiving an incoming connection that is associated with a priority level and a bandwidth group. A plurality of existing connections is indexed by priority level and bandwidth group. A required bandwidth is calculated that is necessary to support the incoming connection. Then, a single existing connection is selected to be released from the plurality of existing connections that is associated with a lower priority and a higher bandwidth group than the incoming connection. If a single connection cannot be selected, then at least one existing connection is selected to be released having a lower priority level and at least the same bandwidth group than that of the incoming connection.

  • Publication number: 20040015451
Abstract: A method and device are described for conducting a transaction between electronic devices in which transaction data is exchanged over an infrared frequency. A first and second electronic device, with a common encryption algorithm deployed on each device, establish an infrared communications link. The second electronic device transmits a transaction request together with an encryption key to the first electronic device. The first electronic device returns response data to the second electronic device which response data is encrypted using the common encryption algorithm and the encryption key. An account to be utilized in the transaction is derived from the response data allowing the transaction to be completed.

  • Patent number: 5732964
Abstract: A user-propelled walking apparatus comprising a frame assembly having a pair of front wheels and a pair of rear wheels. The pair of front wheels are maintained substantially parallel to one another. An upper body and seat assembly having a seat and a movable torso support unit is mounted to the frame assembly. The movable torso support unit is allowed to rotate or pivot. The rotation or pivoting movement of the movable torso support unit is connected to a mechanical transmission for controlling steering which controls the direction of the front wheels. A gait guide system comprising a pair of independent gait guides attached to the frame assembly to limit the movement of the user's feet. Each of the gait guides includes an elongate rail pivotally connected to the frame assembly. A sleeve is slidably mounted on the elongate rail and a shoe bracket is pivotally connected to the sleeve.
