  • Publication number: 20200159799
Abstract: Adjusting system actions based on an absence of relationship acceptance may include detecting absence of connection acceptance by one or more first users in a computer-implemented social networking system. Patterns of the absence of connection acceptance of the one or more first users may be correlated. Users with common patterns of absence of connection acceptance may be clustered into a cluster of users. Absence of connection acceptance by a second user may be detected. Responsive to determining that a pattern of the absence of connection acceptance associated with the second user matches with the common patterns, a profile associated with the second user may be updated according to a template profile associated with the cluster. System actions of the social networking system may be activated for the second user based on the profile updated according to the template profile.

  • Patent number: 10659529
Abstract: Technical solutions are described automatically filtering user images being uploaded to a social network. An example computer-implemented method includes detecting an image file, which contains an image of a user, being uploaded to the social network server. The method further includes determining compliance of the image file with a predetermined profile associated with the user. The method further includes, in response to the image failing to comply with the predetermined profile, modifying the image file to generate a modified image file, and uploading the modified image file to the social network server.

  • Patent number: 10657166
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, computer system, and a computer program product for mitigating conflicts. The present invention may include receiving communication by a recipient, wherein the received communication has a communicator sentiment associated with a communicator and a recipient sentiment associated with a recipient. The present invention may also include determining the communicator sentiment associated with the communicator message. The present invention may then include determining the recipient sentiment associated with a received communicator message. The present invention may further include determining that the determined recipient sentiment does not match the determined communicator sentiment based on the received communication. The present invention may include determining an appropriate response based on determining that the communicator sentiment does not match the recipient sentiment.

  • Publication number: 20200145351
Abstract: Generation of customized response messages is described. According to the method, an incoming communication request is received and a relationship between an initiator of the communication request and a recipient of the communication request is determined. Based on a number of calendars for the recipient, an availability of the recipient is determined. When the recipient is unavailable, a customized response message is generated. The customized response message 1) is based on the relationship between the initiator and the recipient and 2) indicates an estimated response time for the recipient based on the availability of the recipient.

  • Patent number: 10645045
Abstract: A first user muting a conversation, taking place among a plurality of users using an exchange of electronic messages, can be detected. Responsive to the first user muting the conversation, an electronic message inbox of the first user can be configured to prevent further electronic messages pertaining to the conversation from being visible in the electronic message inbox. At least one additional electronic message pertaining to the conversation can be received. Responsive to receiving the additional electronic message, the additional electronic message can be analyzed and, based on the analysis, whether the conversation should be unmuted for the first user can be automatically determined. Responsive to determining that the conversation should be unmuted for the first user, the electronic message inbox of the first user can be configured to make visible at least one electronic message pertaining to the conversation that is received earlier than the additional electronic message.

  • Patent number: 10602976
Abstract: A method, a system and a computer program product are provided. A posture of an individual is measured while the individual is using an application. The measuring a posture includes making multiple measurements. An amount of time that the individual is using the application is measured. The multiple measurements and the measured amount of time are analyzed to derive a posture quotient. At least one action is performed by a computing device based on the derived posture quotient. The at least one action includes adjusting execution of the application to enable correction of the posture.

  • Publication number: 20200099767
Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for adding conversation context from detected audio to contact records. An audio stream is received through a microphone of a personal computing device. Context analysis is performed of the audio stream to detect conversation context in the audio stream. A request is received to associate the conversation context with a selected contact person. A determination is made of conversation context detected from a segment of the audio stream received during a period of time from when the request was received. The conversation context determined for the period of time is included in a contact record for the selected contact person. The contact record is stored in a contact database including a plurality of contact records for a plurality of contact persons, wherein the contact records include conversation context and location information associated with the contact persons.

  • Patent number: 10599703
Abstract: Multimedia content is presented to a user. Questions presented by the user are monitored. A core concept of the question can be identified. The multimedia content can be analyzed to determine whether the multimedia content contains a possible answer to the question. If the multimedia content contains a possible answer to the question, a confidence score can be assigned to at least one segment of the multimedia content that covers the at least one possible answer, the confidence score assigned to the segment of the multimedia content indicating a probability that the segment of the multimedia content answers the question. Based on the confidence score assigned to segment of the multimedia content, the segment of the multimedia content can be selected. Based on the selected segment of the multimedia content, an answer to the question presented by the user can be automatically generated and presented to the user.

  • Patent number: 10592283
Abstract: A computer-implemented method mitigates distractions that are provided by a computer system in order to improve an overall functionality of the computer system. One or more processors identify a task T that has a completion deadline, where task T is performed on a computer system. The processor(s) identify one or more activities At that are required to complete task T, as well as a dedicated focus of attention time Ft that is required of a user to perform the activities At. The processor(s) monitor activities of the user to determine a focus of attention time Fi for each activity Ai performed by the user, and accumulate the focus of attention time Fi for activities into a bucket for Ft and a bucket not for Ft. The processor(s) then alter a functionality of the computer system in order to improve an overall functionality of the computer system when performing task T.

  • Patent number: 10585742
Abstract: A method and system for performing a root cause analysis. A CPU identifies events of interest as a function of a user's observable behavior, which includes the user's eye gaze, while viewing event data. The CPU calculates an interest score for each of the identified events of interest, wherein the interest score is a probability of each of the identified events of interest being a root cause of a defect. The CPU tags each of the events of interest with a tag as a function of each calculated interest score. The identifying of the one or more events of interest includes: correlating a focal point of the user's eye gaze to a viewing position of a display device displaying the file; and identifying, as a function of the viewing position, the event data being viewed and an amount of time that the event data is viewed by the user.

  • Patent number: 10574608
Abstract: A computer system detects that a sender is composing a current message designated for delivery to recipients via a computer network once completed as an entire message. At least one of the recipients is designated as an early recipient. While the sender is composing the current message, a computer system determines an emotional reaction of the at least one early recipient to a portion of the message. An indication of the emotional reaction of the at least one early recipient is presented to the sender. After the computer system presents the emotional reaction indication to the sender, a modification is received from the sender for the message portion. The received modification is applied to the message portion and the entire message is sent to all the recipients, wherein the sending of the entire message to the recipients occurs after the received modification is applied.
