  • Publication number: 20080079627
Abstract: Embodiments of methods and means for correcting auto-correlated wireless signal samples are provided. Such embodiments include isolating and subtracting an interference vector from auto-correlated signal samples so that a corrected signal sample data set is derived. The corrected signal samples are then used in detecting and identifying symbols within the original wireless signal. Reliable and expeditious wireless communications can be achieved in accordance with the present embodiments.

  • Publication number: 20080063094
Abstract: Embodiments of methods and means for auto-correlating wireless signal samples are provided. Such embodiments include local normalization of each signal sample by a root mean square level of samples that preceded it, prior to any summation of the auto-correlation procedure. These auto-correlated signal samples are then used to distinguish downlink from uplink signals present within the signal sample set. Other embodiments include auto-correlation techniques in which no normalization is performed at any time with respect to the summation procedure. Such auto-correlated samples are then scanned to detect a preamble symbol or symbols within the signal samples. Reliable and expeditious wireless communications under WiMAX 802.16e and other protocols can be achieved in accordance with the present embodiments.

  • Publication number: 20050265220
Abstract: Preamble generator for a multiband frequency division multplexing (OFDM) tranceiver of a wireless personal area network (WPAN) being switchable between a time frequency interleaving (TFI)-mode wherein data packets are transmitted by said transceiver in different frequency bands according to a predetermined frequency hopping pattern and a fixed frequency interleaving (FFI) mode wherein data packets are transmitted by the transceiver in at least one fixed frequency band, wherein said preamble generator scrambles in the fixed frequency interleaving (FFI) mode a predetermined preamble of the data packets by multiplying said preamble with a pseudo random data sequence to flatten a power spectrum of said preamble.

  • Publication number: 20050152327
Abstract: Interleaving circuit for a multiband OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) transceiver of a ultra wide band wireless personal access network transmitting OFDM modulated symbols, wherein each OFDM symbol consists of a predetermined number (NCBPS) of encoded bits, said interleaving circuit comprising a symbol interleaving unit which receives an input bitstream of encoded bits and permutes adjacent bits of said input bitstream across different OFDM symbols; an intra-symbol tone interleaving unit which receives the bits permuted by said symbol interleaving unit and permutes adjacent bits of each OFDM symbol across uncorrelated data sub-carriers; and an intra-symbol cyclic shift unit which shifts cyclically NCBPS bits of each OFDM symbol in response to a shift value (K) which is changed between adjacent OFDM symbols.
