Abstract: A method and system for detecting and identifying infectious sites by: receiving location data from a mobile device associated with a user, receiving health data for the user, determining an illness being suffered by a user, if the illness is an infectious disease, calculating an incubation period for the disease in the user, backtracking through the user's location data to determine a location where the user was during the incubation period, identifying each such location as an infectious site, notifying affected users who have been to the infectious site, and requesting real-time feedback from affected users in order to confirm, reject, or refine the identification of the infectious site
