    Abstract: A method and a system are disclosed including software and hardware components implementing a Universal Email Platform (UEP) that allows communications between UEP and other existing email platforms, communication between multiple UEP clients, or combinations of existing and UEP email clients via the UEP and also existing email platforms. The UEP creates a global virtual single conversation in two phases. In Phase I, emails that are part of the same exchange and are associated with one mailbox are linked together to create a local virtual conversation of the one mailbox. In Phase II, multiple local virtual conversations are linked together to create a global virtual single conversation that connects all participants from local and remote mail servers in one conversation.
