  • Patent number: 6694514
Abstract: A plurality of programs is displayed on screen in a grid of cells. When program in a particular column of cells is pointed to by a cursor, the programs in neighboring columns are shifted to improve the time-alignment of the programs in the row of the cursor.

  • Publication number: 20020167540
Abstract: Method and system for allowing selection of a position in an image sequence. A temporally ordered collection (300) of key frames is obtained for the image sequence, preferably through automatic key frame extraction. A portion of the collection is displayed in a scroll area (201). A current key frame (303), being a key frame presently occupying a playback area (212) can be actuated to initiate playback of the image sequence at the location corresponding to the current key frame. Upon actuation of a next key frame (304), presently occupying the forward area (213), the collection of key frames is scrolled through the scroll area (201) in a forward direction, and upon actuation of a previous key frame (302), presently occupying the backward area (211), the collection of key frames is scrolled through the scroll area (201) in a backward direction.

  • Publication number: 20020130897
Abstract: The invention concerns the visual ordering of broadcast events (101, 102, . . . ) or programs scheduled for recording: all events (110, 102, 111) selected from a program guide (10) for recording form a list (20). They are displayed on a screen with a timeline (30), at the exact positions on this line, which correspond to the times when they will be broadcast. This gives the user a clear overview of the sequence of the programs (110, 102, 111) in the list. Overlap of programs may be resolved by the assignment of priorities (A, B, C) to the programs, programs of higher priorities being recorded first.

  • Publication number: 20020107808
Abstract: An arrangement (100) for facilitating the sharing of a content item (101), comprising a first user device (110), a facilitating device (120) and a second user device (130). The arrangement (100) realizes a method of facilitating the sharing of a content item (101), comprising receiving from the first user device (110) an identifier for the content item (101) and an identifier for the second user device (130), generating a representation (102) for the content item (101), and transmitting the representation (102) to the second user device (130). Also a computer program product (140).

  • Publication number: 20020054086
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for adapting a graphical user interface. A skin is applied to the graphical user interface so as to influence its look and feel, in response to an event which does not originate from a user request to change the currently applied skin. Such an event may be a change of a category of presented information, a command received from a remote server, or a change of a user profile. Skins thus change dynamically without requiring an explicit user request.
