Patent number: 11816601Abstract: A computerized operation of a vehicle rental system is provided, wherein a number of vehicles is made available to a defined user group for a temporary use period. The vehicles are placed at one or more locations accessible only to the user group, with one or multiple parking spaces reserved for the vehicles in each case. Based on a user input which includes at least one item of data regarding a rental period start and a rental period end of a vehicle, as well as a user ID, a reservation of the vehicle is carried out in a computerized reservation system. A sensor device, which monitors the parking spaces, verifies the presence of the vehicle. The reservation system shows a vehicle, the same being detected by the sensor device as parked in one of the reserved parking spaces prior to the expiration of the rental period end and saved in the reservation system, as available for rental in the reservation system.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2014Date of Patent: November 14, 2023Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventor: Astrid Schroeder

Patent number: 9694767Abstract: A configuration system of a vehicle has at least one functional unit, a control unit pertaining to the functional unit, and a parametrizing unit provided in the vehicle, which is operatively connected with the control unit. The configuring system includes a storage device which can be read out by the parametrizing unit and which contains configuration information for the control unit, by which configuration information a parametrizing of the control unit can be carried out. The storage device additionally contains configuration information for the vehicle, in which case the storage device contains evaluation rules by which the parametrizing unit can determine configuration information for the configuration of the control unit from the configuration information for the vehicle and the configuration information for the control unit and can configure the control unit.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2007Date of Patent: July 4, 2017Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Christian Suess, Astrid Schroeder

Publication number: 20130080196Abstract: A process is provided for computer-aided operation of a mobility service by which a number of vehicles are made available by a mobility provider to registered users for temporary use. A respective user is registered once in a booking system as a provider and/or a buyer of a mobility service feature. A first user registered as a provider reserves the vehicle for a period of time in the booking system. The first user further clears the use of a mobility service feature for a second user connected with the vehicle booking whereby the mobility service feature for the second user is offered for selection. An accounting of costs for the vehicle booking takes place as a function of whether at least one second user was determined as a buyer of the provided mobility service feature.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 3, 2012Publication date: March 28, 2013Applicant: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Astrid SCHROEDER, Heleen Borghols-Wilmink, Marco Eggert

Patent number: 7283902Abstract: A method is provided for transferring at least a first personal setting of a first vehicle to a second vehicle, especially for a driver, who changes the vehicle. To transfer the vehicle settings that are known to the driver as true to the original as possible from a first vehicle to a second vehicle, thus without falsifying the subjective impression, first personalization data indicating the personal first setting is exported from the first vehicle in the original form or in a modified form in a first step and is imported into the second vehicle in a second step. The second personalization data are formed based on the imported data; and a personal setting is carried out with the second personalization data in the second vehicle, wherein the model and/or the accessories of the first and second vehicle may be identical or different.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2006Date of Patent: October 16, 2007Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Andreas Heider, Thomas Stauner, Alexandre Saad, Astrid Schroeder
