  • Publication number: 20130177146
Abstract: Example methods disclosed herein include parsing a request to obtain input criteria associated with the request, the request for authorizing an outdial communication service call initiated by a message center. Such example methods also include retrieving authorization rules correlating the input criteria to an authorization result for the outdial communication service call, the input criteria comprising a first input criterion having one of at least two values, a first value indicating that the outdial communication service call is for a real-time outdial service initiated in response to an indial communication service received at the message center, a second value indicating that the outdial communication service call is for a non-real-time outdial service initiated by an application server associated with the message center. Such example methods further include evaluating the authorization rules using the input criteria to determine whether the outdial communication service call is authorized.

  • Publication number: 20130170379
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for detecting encrypted Internet Protocol packet streams. A probe stream having a known observable parameter is generated. The observable parameter exhibits a known characteristic of a known type of data encrypted within a stream of packets. The probe stream is communicated to a network element via a communications network. When the probe stream is received by the network element, the network element can compare the known observable parameter to an actual value. Any difference between the known observable parameter and the actual value can be used to correct for network-induced variation and other effects, thus ensuring accurate detection and identification of data types within encrypted streams of packets.

  • Publication number: 20130124923
Abstract: A device detects and diagnoses correlated anomalies of a network. The device includes an anomaly detection module receiving a first data stream including an event-series related to the network. The anomaly detection module executes at least one algorithm to detect a potential anomaly in the event-series. The device further includes a correlating module receiving a second data stream including other event-series related to the network. The correlating module determines whether the potential anomaly is false and determines whether the potential anomaly is a true anomaly.

  • Publication number: 20130035932
Abstract: A system to generate a response to a text-based natural language message includes a user interface, processing device, and a computer-readable storage medium storing executable instructions to generate the response to the text-based natural language message. The instructions and a method for generating the response include identifying a sentence in the text-based natural language message, identifying an input clause in the sentence, and parsing the input clause, thereby defining a relationship between words in the input clause. The instructions and method also include assigning a semantic tag to the parsed input clause, comparing the input clause to a previously received clause, the previously received clause being correlated with a previously generated response clause, and generating an output response message derived from the previously generated response clause.
