  • Patent number: 11319760
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method and device for controlling lost circulation in a target lost circulation zone in a borehole. A swellable lost circulation material device includes a permeable membrane and a swellable lost circulation material enclosed within the membrane. The swellable lost circulation material device in a non-swollen state is introduced to a target lost circulation zone where a fluidic component permeates into the swellable lost circulation material device through the membrane such that the fluid component is in contact with the swellable lost circulation material such that the swellable lost circulation material device transitions to a swollen state.

  • Patent number: 10941631
Abstract: An example system for isolating cement slurry from drilling fluids includes a tool configured for installation on a landing collar of a casing. The tool includes a base that conforms to an inner circumference of the casing and a tube that extends uphole from the base. The tube has a first borehole that extends downhole through the base. The tube is perforated to allow cement slurry to pass from the casing into the first borehole. A cementing plug is configured to seal to the casing uphole of the base. The cementing plug includes a second borehole to receive the tube. The cementing plug includes a covering that extends across at least part of the borehole and that is configured to break in response to contact with the tube.

  • Patent number: 10914134
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a system and method for treating a casing-casing annulus of a wellbore using a sealant material. The sealant material is heated to a first temperature, equal to or greater than the melting point of the sealant material such that the sealant material is in its molten state. The casing-casing annulus is heated to a second temperature, equal to or greater than the melting point of the sealant material. The sealant material in its molten state is pressurized and injected into the casing-casing annulus such that the sealant material in its molten state occupies pore or imperfections of a cemented zone located in the casing-casing annulus. The sealant material is allowed to solidify such that formation fluids are prevented from migrating to the surface of the wellbore.

  • Patent number: 10774611
Abstract: Embodiments provide a system and method for treating a casing-casing annulus (CCA) of a wellbore using galvanic deposition. A galvanic deposition system includes a first casing, a second casing, an anode, a brine, and a power source. The first casing includes a first conductive material. The second casing includes a second conductive material. The first casing has an inner diameter greater than an outer diameter of the second casing forming the CCA. The anode includes an anodic material. The brine is fluidly contacting an interior surface of the first casing, an exterior surface of the second casing, and the anode. The power source is electrically connecting the anode and at least one of the first casing and the second casing. The at least one of the first casing and the second casing is operable as a cathode.
