  • Publication number: 20140120810
Abstract: A high precision rigid gas-permeable contact lens edge curve polishing lathe includes a base provided at the bottom of a machine body. A first crank and a second crank are respectively provided on two sides of the base. A detent mechanism is provided on both the first crank and the second crank. The detent mechanism includes an ejector pin matching the rotational direction of the first crank and the second crank and a numerical display unit revealing the position of the ejector pin. The contact position of a polishing sponge on a spindle of the polishing lathe and a lens can be precisely positioned through numerical reading, realizing quantized control of the polishing of a lens edge, and enabling improvement and modification to the design of the lens edge to become simpler.

  • Patent number: 6536586
Abstract: A combination vessel is capable of carrying out temporary fastening while always bringing down a ring portion subsequently to breakage of a bridge part during an opening operation. A cap portion and a ring portion of a cap type sealing tool are coupled to each other through a bridge part. Through breakage of the bridge part during opening of the cap portion, the ring portion is pulled down while a sliding protrusion on an internal wall in a lower stage area of the ring portion always contacts by pressure an upward spread zone on an external wall of a neck zone of a bottle portion.

  • Publication number: 20010019022
Abstract: To develop a combination vessel capable of carrying out temporary fastening while always bringing down a ring portion subsequently to breakage of a bridge part during opening. A cap portion (11) and a ring portion (12) in a cap type sealing tool (1) are coupled to each other through a bridge part (13). Through breakage of the bridge part during opening, the ring portion is pulled down while a sliding protrusion (12uc) on an internal wall in a lower stage area of the ring portion always interposes an upward spread zone (2nx) on an external wall of a neck zone of a bottle portion (2) by pressure. In addition, a vertical convex to block the opening turn (12rc) provided on an inner periphery of the ring portion and a vertical convex (2rc) to block opening turn provided on the external wall (2rz) of the neck zone of the bottle portion do not block attachment of the cap type sealing tool (1) but blocks accompanied rotation of the ring portion during the opening of the cap portion, thereby breaking the bridge part.

  • Patent number: 6276920
Abstract: Mold assembly for forming a lens blank for an ophthalmic lens, wherein upper and lower tapered inner surfaces of intermediate sleeve are adapted to be held in press-fitting engagement with respective outer surfaces of upper and lower molds, to effect fluid-tight connection of the upper and lower molds with the intermediate sleeve, with the upper mold being held in abutting contact with a shoulder of the intermediate sleeve, and with stopper surfaces of the intermediate and lower molds being held in abutting contact with each other to determine a relative axial position therebetween, such that a mold cavity to be filled with a liquid monomer composition is defined by the upper and lower molds and the intermediate sleeve, while a liquid reservoir for storing an excess amount of the monomer composition which has been discharged from the mold cavity is defined by the upper mold and the intermediate mold.

  • Patent number: 6134342
Abstract: In a contact lens visual inspection method and apparatus, a contact lens insertion portion of a container is first imaged by an image pickup device and then an area which locates on the container and is unnecessary for the visual inspection of a contact lens is extracted from the image of the contact lens insertion portion to form a mask image. Thereafter, a system containing the contact lens insertion portion of the container, the preservation liquid filled in the contact lens insertion portion and the contact lens placed in the contact lens insertion portion is imaged as an inspection object by the imaging device to obtain an inspection object image, the inspection object image is overlapped with the mask image, and the mask image is subtracted from the inspection object image to set as a visual inspection area the area corresponding to a subtracting image obtained by said subtracting step. The defects of the contact lens such as soil, foreign matter, scratch, breakage, peripheral damage, etc.

  • Patent number: 6071111
Abstract: A mold assembly for forming a lens blank which gives a contact lens includes an upper and a lower mold half which cooperate with each other to define a substantially fluid-tight mold cavity when the two halves are assembled together. The mold cavity is filled with a monomer liquid which is polymerized to provide the lens blank that is to be subjected to a cutting operation for forming a base and a front curved surface of the contact lens. The upper mold half includes a flexible thin-walled portion which has a downwardly convex shape and which partially defines the mold cavity. The thin-walled portion is deformable to absorb expansion or shrinkage of the monomer liquid during polymerization thereof in the mold cavity. The lower mold half includes a base portion at which the lower mold half is clamped by a chuck of a lathe during the cutting operation. A mold portion of the lower mold half has a molding surface which is provided with a recess or protrusion for holding the lens blank on the lower mold half.

  • Patent number: 5901948
Abstract: A jig adapted to hold a contact lens material having a concave surface, for holding the contact lens material, including a protruding portion which has a top end having as an outer surface thereof a convex surface. This convex surface of the jig is bonded to the concave surface of the contact lens material. The protruding portion has a recess which extends from an inner surface of the top end toward a bottom end of the protruding portion. The recess is defined by an inner surface which includes a first portion that corresponds to the convex surface of the top end of the protruding portion. At least the first portion of the inner surface is roughened with a light-scattering texture. A method of holding the contact lens material while the contact lens material is processed into a contact lens is disclosed.
