  • Patent number: 5646292
Abstract: Disclosed is a novel blowing agent of tetrazoles and their derivatives. The blowing agent comprising tetrazole derivatives is harmless, odorless and inexpensive. Moreover, the agent is low in physical sensitivities and safe in use, and generates clean gas by being sharply decomposed only due to temperature. The blowing agent of tetrazoles and their derivatives employs aminotetrazole derivatives represented by the general formula (1). The blowing agent offers foaming agents for resin molded bodies having good thermal properties, inflators for air bags serving as automobile safety protection, or smoking agents for diffusing chemicals by a low-cost inexpensive synthetic process.

  • Patent number: 5508104
Abstract: The invention provides a novel micro-capsule toner, having a constitution and features absolutely differing the conventional counterpart, that has fully solved the conventional problem that the pattern may vanish. The toner is a novel thermal micro-capsule toner in which the micro-capsule is composed of two or more types of compositions, and in which a component that will be thermally decomposed to generate a gas has been added to the cell or core of the micro-capsule of the compositions, or to the interface between the cell and the core. The toner is added to a paint or an adhesive, or applied onto a carrier, or added to a moldable resin. By directly or indirectly heating, the toner allows a nonvolatile pattern to be developed. The micro-capsule will rupture by simple heating so that a nonvolatile patter is obtained. It becomes possible to print characters and images on various materials such as paper, synthetic resins, woods, and metals.

  • Patent number: 5439251
Abstract: Tetrazoles of improved physical properties as produced by converting them into their amine salts represented by the following chemical formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R represents hydrogen, alkyl, phenyl, benzyl or phenethyl group, which may be substituted by an alkyl with carbon number 1-3, chlorine, hydroxyl, carboxyl, methoxy, aceto, nitro or other group, and wherein R may also be tetrazolyl group, which may be substituted via diazo or triazo group, and wherein Z is an amine. The tetrazole amine salts are useful as gas-generating agents for air-bags or as foaming agents for high polymers.

  • Patent number: 5346927
Abstract: Blowing agents of tetrazoles and their derivatives which have a melting point over 200.degree. C. and are used to manufacture the high quality foaming thermoplastic synthetic resin moldings, especially engineering or superengineering plastic moldings and said blowing agents generate no harmful gases and do not cause the deterioration of the thermoplastic synthetic resin moldings.

  • Patent number: 4997535
Abstract: This invention is concerned with the manufacture of methanesulfonyl chloride from a mixture of methane, sulfur dioxide gas and chloride gas under irradiation of light having a wave length of 200.about.600 nm from a low vapor pressure mercury lamp, a high vapor pressure mercury lamp, a luminescent lamp a xenon lamp and/or sun light. High purity methanesulfonyl chloride is manufactured simply by single distillation, without using methylmercaptan which has a bad odor as raw material. The invention has special merit in utilizing sulfur dioxide gas which is produced in a large amount in the desulphurization of petroleum.
