  • Patent number: 6973582
Abstract: An audio signal output device is disclosed in which optical signals are not output when a plug is not connected to an S/PDIF output terminal. When a plug is not connected to the S/PDIF output terminal, a fitting metal part does not contact a detection pin, and a connection detection signal is therefore 12V. As a result, a PNP transistor and an n-channel MOS transistor are both OFF, a power supply voltage of 5 V is not supplied to a drive IC, and optical signals are not output.

  • Patent number: 6964318
Abstract: A portable information terminal device has a plurality of casings providing a front surface and a rear surface, respectively. The casings have walls defining spaces in which speakers are housed and thicker than walls thereof that define a space in which a component including an internal circuit is housed. The walls defining the spaces in which speakers are housed are prevented from causing resonance due to vibrations of the speakers. The walls that define the space in which the component including the internal circuit is housed may be of a minimum thickness required irrespective of resonance caused by vibrations of the speakers. With the above arrangement, the portable information terminal device is small in size and weight.

  • Publication number: 20030212886
Abstract: An encryption/decryption system encrypts/decrypts digital data including pairs of header information and a data body. The system includes an encryption work key generation unit, an encryption unit, a decryption work key generation unit, and a decryption unit. The encryption work key generation unit generates an encryption work key based on the header information for each data body. The encryption unit encrypts each data body using a corresponding encryption work key. The decryption work key generation unit generates decryption work key for each data body based on the corresponding header information. The decryption unit decrypts the encrypted data body of the encrypted digital data using a corresponding decryption work key, and reproduce the digital data.

  • Publication number: 20030028272
Abstract: An audio data delivery apparatus is disclosed including a data server and a license server. The data server stores audio data on a plurality of recording media. When audio data on a recording medium is recorded in a terminal, the terminal transmits a reproduction key issuance request to the license server for reproducing the audio data. In response to the issuance request from the terminal, the license server issues a reproduction key to the terminal for reproducing the audio data on the recording medium indicated by the terminal. The terminal stores the reproduction key issued by the license server in a memory as the audio data on the recording medium. When audio data on a recording medium is reproduced in the terminal, the terminal reads a reproduction key from the memory, and transmits a reproduction request including this reproduction key to the license server.

  • Patent number: 6457136
Abstract: A power management method for a computer system is provided, which is not affected by a problem with the power and needs a shorter time for the computer system to resume from the suspended state. In the method, when the computer system resumes from the suspended state, if a power controller for controlling the power has not been initialized, it is determined that no interruption of the AC power occurred, and the computer system resumes the previous state based on the data stored in the main memory, while if the power controller has been initialized, it is determined that an interruption of the AC power occurred, and the data stored on the hard disk is read out and the computer system resumes the previous state based on the readout data.

  • Patent number: 6126706
Abstract: A method of cleaning and disinfecting a contact lens, comprising the steps of: preparing a disinfectant which is an aqueous solution containing an iodine-complex polymer, and a diluent which is an aqueous solution containing ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid and/or soluble salts thereof, and a nonionic surface active agent; mixing the disinfectant and the diluent to provide a mixed solution, such that an available iodine concentration of the mixed solution immediately after mixing is in a range of 0.01-50 ppm, and such that concentrations of the ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid and/or the soluble salts thereof, and the nonionic surface active agent in the mixed solution are in a range of 0.0001-1.0 w/v % and in a range of 0.01-1.0 w/v %, respectively; and immersing the contact lens in the mixed solution for cleaning and disinfecting the contact lens, resulting in gradual reduction of the available iodine remaining in the mixed solution, by the ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid and/or the soluble salts thereof.
