  • Patent number: 8160316
Abstract: The extraction processor of the medical image-processing apparatus sets landmarks of each medical image based on volume data of two medical images. The positional relationship information-generating part generates positional relationship information that indicates positional relationship of the landmarks for each of the two medial images. The landmark-coordinating part eliminates one or more landmarks from each medical image based on the positional relationship information. Further, the landmark-coordinating part coordinates the landmarks of two medical images that remained after the elimination. The image-aligning part aligns the two sets of volume data based on the result of the coordination of landmarks.

  • Publication number: 20110158487
Abstract: A reference landmark extracting and pairing unit extracts reference landmarks from each of two three-dimensional medical images and forms reference landmark pairs, while a general landmark extracting unit extracts general landmarks. The landmark pair forming unit forms general landmark pairs using of a distance between each of the reference landmarks and the general landmarks, and also forms general landmark pairs from the remaining general landmarks using the distances from the general landmarks included in the general landmark pairs. A coordinate transformation parameter calculating unit calculates coordinate transformation parameters, based on the positional information of the reference landmark pairs and the general landmark pairs.

  • Publication number: 20110009732
Abstract: In one embodiment, a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes: a functional image generating unit that generates a functional image from a magnetic resonance image generated by collecting a magnetic resonance signal from a subject who executes a task with an intermission of a resting period; an image generation controlling unit that controls the functional image generating unit so that a plurality of functional images along a time series are generated by separating a plurality of magnetic resonance images generated along the time series during a collecting period (in which the resting period and a task-execution period are repeated a plurality of times along the time series) into image groups each corresponding to a predetermined temporal phase and by performing a statistic process on each of the image groups; and a display controlling unit that exercises control so that the functional images are displayed by a predetermined display unit.

  • Publication number: 20100106002
Abstract: According to an Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) apparatus, a Region Of Interest (ROI) setting unit included in a control unit sets an ROI on each of a T1 weighted image, a T2 weighted image, and a flair image of a brain of a subject; and a feature-analysis processing unit creates a histogram of statistics with respect to each of a plurality of images based on pixel values of pixels included in the ROI set by the ROI setting unit. A display control unit then causes a display unit to display the images in the substantially same position in a display area included in the display unit by switching the images in a certain order, and to display the histogram created by the feature-analysis processing unit in the same display area.

  • Patent number: 7470897
Abstract: A nuclear medical apparatus for obtaining a distribution of a radioisotope in a subject by administering to a subject a radioactive medicine labeled with a radioisotope, detecting gamma rays given off from the radioisotope in a gamma-ray detecting section and counting the detected gamma rays in a count section. A correcting section is provided to correct for a count taken at the count section, by use of collection efficiency data determined according to the gamma-ray detecting section and an energy the gamma rays possesses.

  • Publication number: 20080249415
Abstract: A compression paddle of a mammographic diagnosis apparatus is provided with an opening portion which allows an ultrasonic probe to be fitted therein and slide. This apparatus performs ultrasonic scanning on a breast compressed/fixed to the compression paddle, and reconstructs a compressed breast image by using the obtained ultrasonic image as a virtual image, thereby acquiring an ultrasonic image and volume data of the compressed/fixed breast.

  • Patent number: 7369691
Abstract: Using medical three-dimensional image data, at least one of a volume-rendering image, a flat reformatted image on an arbitrary section, a curved reformatted image, and an MIP (maximum value projection) image is prepared as a reference image. Vessel center lines are extracted from this reference image, and at least one of a vessel stretched image based on the center line and a perpendicular sectional image substantially perpendicular to the center line is prepared. The shape of vessels is analyzed on the basis of the prepared image, and the prepared stretched image and/or the perpendicular sectional image is compared with the reference image, and the result is displayed together with the images. Display of the reference image with the stretched image or the perpendicular sectional image is made conjunctive. Correction of the center line by the operator and automatic correction of the image resulting from the correction are also possible.

  • Publication number: 20080063136
Abstract: A medical image diagnosis apparatus designates an imaging range of a subject from a projection image for designation of the imaging range, specifies a specific spot on the projection image, performs scanning for generating a three-dimensional medical image of the subject on the basis of the imaging range, finds out a three-dimensional target region from the three-dimensional medical image on the basis of the specific spot, and detects a candidate for an abnormal part in the three-dimensional target region.

  • Publication number: 20070274583
Abstract: In consideration of the fact that a lung field varies in the density of sponge-like tissue depending on an individual or display region, an opacity curve which gives priority to a nodule candidate region or an extended nodule candidate region can be set by generating a histogram concerning a volume of interest which includes a foreground region, and using the statistical analysis result on the histogram as an objective index.
