Abstract: In an image scanning device, an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) frame accommodating an ADF is provided openable and closable on an upper surface of a device main body via a hinge member. In the hinge member, a frame supporting part fixed on one end part of the ADF frame and a base part fixed on the device main body are mounted in a manner capable of being swung. A rear side edge of the ADF frame is supported by the frame supporting part of the hinge member. The ADF frame is provided openable and closable so as to expose a bottom surface of the ADF frame to a front side.

Abstract: A paper transportation device includes a paper guide body, which forms an inner guide surface of a transportation path, side frames on which a shaft of a transportation member disposed in the transportation path for transporting an original document is mounted and a gear shaft of a drive transmitting gear, which is provided in a standing condition on the side frames and transmits rotation of a drive source to the shaft of the transportation member. The paper guide body, the side frames and the gear shaft are formed integrally by resin.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a main body portion having on an upper surface thereof a platen glass on which a document is placed, a pressing plate portion openable/closable with respect to the upper surface of the main body portion, and an operation unit enabling performance of an open/close operation of the pressing plate portion by hand. The operation unit includes a first operation concave portion formed on the pressing plate portion side and a second operation concave portion formed on the main body portion side; and the first operation concave portion and the second operation concave portion are combined to form one opening when the pressing plate portion is closed.
