  • Patent number: 8633356
Abstract: It is an objective to provide a method for controlling root parasitic plants. The present invention is directed to a method for protecting plants from root parasitic plants comprising regulating the activity of a protein associated with the strigolactone biosynthetic pathway (including the strigolactone biosynthetic and signalling pathway) in plants or expression of a gene encoding such a protein.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 30, 2009
Date of Patent: January 21, 2014
    Assignee: Riken
Inventors: Shinjiro Yamaguchi, Mikihisa Umehara, Atsushi Hanada, Satoko Yoshida, Ken Shirasu
  • Patent number: 8042589
Abstract: An apparatus for efficiently cleaning a platen roller of a printer. A cleaning unit is attached to a main unit in place of a removal unit for an intermediate transfer sheet. A cam is turned by means of turning an arm UP/DOWN lever, and the arm is turned from an UP position to a DOWN position by means of the cam, to thus bring a cleaning pad on a leading end of the arm into contact with a platen roller and perform cleaning operation. When an operation mode is set to a cleaning mode and when attachment of the cleaning unit UC is detected, the platen roller is rotated, thereby allowing cleaning operation.

  • Patent number: 7639269
Abstract: A printer transfers to one image formation area a plurality of single colors of ink repeatedly arranged in a longitudinal direction of the ink sheet, to thus produce in an image formation area of an intermediate transfer sheet a transfer image formed as a result of lamination of single color images, and also transfers the transfer image of the intermediate transfer sheet to a subject to be printed, thereby producing a desired image on the subject. During the course of a first single color of ink C being transferred from the ink sheet to an image formation area of an intermediate transfer sheet, to thus produce a single color image in the first color on the intermediate transfer sheet, a position mark is transferred by use of a black ink area provided at a widthwise edge of an area of the first single color of ink of the ink sheet and outside the image formation area of the intermediate transfer sheet.

  • Publication number: 20070264073
Abstract: An image is appropriately printed on a print target with at least a print area having a print surface and other areas connected to the print area at angles. A retention member for retaining the print target is formed from a disk tray, and an adapter removably attached to the disk tray. When an image is printed on a print target having a U-shaped cross-sectional profile, a recessed section on which the print area (an upper arm section) is to be placed is formed in an upper surface of the adapter. A lateral hole into which a lower arm—a non-print area—is to be inserted is formed in a side surface of the disk tray. In order to form a cutout space for accommodating a connection section which connects the upper arm with the lower arm, a cutout is formed in the side surface of the disk tray and in a side surface of the adapter, as well.
