  • Patent number: 8226115
Abstract: An objective is to inflate an inflation portion to an upward position, corresponding with a temple area of an occupant, at the time of a side impact. At a shoulder portion of a seatback 26 of a vehicle seat 12, there is an inflation-time cross-sectional shape regulation component 22, through which an occupant restraint webbing 16 passes. The occupant restraint webbing 16 has an inflation portion 18 that corresponds with a cephalic region 14H of an occupant 14 at the time of inflation. At the time of inflation of the inflation portion 18, the inflation-time cross-sectional shape regulation component 22 regulates such that a cross-sectional shape of the inflation portion 18 is an oblong shape which is long in a vertical direction.

  • Patent number: 8162099
Abstract: A vehicle interior structure that may realize a more amenable vehicle interior space by making communication between occupants sitting on a pair of vehicle seats easier. The vehicle interior structure includes: a pair of vehicle seats; and a sound-reflecting communication unit for conveying a sound produced from occupants sitting, respectively, on the pair of vehicle seats to the other occupant, while reflecting and converging the sound. The sound-reflecting communication unit forms a concave shape along a virtual ellipse, focuses of which are respectively at positions of heads of the occupants.

  • Patent number: 7862080
Abstract: An inflatable member is restricted to expand outwardly in the vehicle width direction and allowed to expand upwardly to a position facing a side of an occupant's head when a lateral collision occurs. A belt guide mounted on the shoulder portion of a seat back guides a restraint webbing, including an inflatable member that is provided for supporting the head of a vehicle occupant when inflated, and allows a guide hole to be vertically enlarged by being projected upwardly in the vehicle vertical direction when the inflatable member is inflated. The inflatable member is thereby expanded so as to form a vertically extended shape regulated by the guide hole and disposed to an upward position facing the side of the occupant's head when a lateral collision occurs.

  • Patent number: 7566072
Abstract: An occupant restraining apparatus includes a seat belt with an inflatable portion that can be placed at a high position on a lateral side of an occupant's head without using a large-capacity inflator. A push-up device with first and second levers for pushing up a shoulder belt section is provided on an upper side of a seatback. When the shoulder belt section is inflated, upper arm portions arranged on an upper side of the shoulder belt section are pressed upward, and the respective levers rotate upward about pivotably supporting portions. At this time, lower arm portions of the respective levers arranged on a lower side of the shoulder belt section rise and rotate, and a hanging member is tensed between the lower arm portions. Consequently, the inflated shoulder belt section is pushed upward, and is placed at a high position on the lateral side of the occupant's head.

  • Publication number: 20070013175
Abstract: Inflation is sped up of the head-side portion of an occupant restraint belt that passes by the head of an occupant and routed across the front of the occupant, and which is inflatable from the head-side portion disposed on the side of the occupant's head across the front portion disposed at the front of the occupant. A shoulder belt section of an occupant restraint belt has a head-side portion located on the side of the head of an occupant; and a front portion located across the front of the occupant. The shoulder belt section has a structure in which, upon inflation, the head-side portion becomes thicker than the front portion, and the front portion becomes substantially even in thickness in the longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 6375260
Abstract: A child seat is formed of a child seat main portion for holding a child, and a base on which the child seat main portion is detachably mounted. The base has a connecting portion to be connected to a vehicle, and a fixing device engageable with an engaging member of the child seat main portion. An engagement releasing member is installed in one of the base and the child seat main portion for releasing an engagement between the fixing device and the engaging member. In the child seat, a permission member is formed to cooperate with the connecting portion for allowing the child seat main portion to engage the base only when the base is connected to the vehicle. The child seat can be easily fixed to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6176543
Abstract: A flange is formed at an upper edge of a lower arm, and the strength of an upper portion of the lower arm is set to be greater than the strength of a lower portion thereof. A fragile portion is formed in a longitudinally intermediate portion of the lower arm, and when an impact of a predetermined value or greater is applied in the rearward direction of the vehicle during a rear collision of the vehicle, the lower arm is adapted to absorb the impact by undergoing deformation beginning at the fragile portion. In addition, with respect to the load applied to the seat back from the rear by luggage or the like during a front collision of the vehicle, the deformation of the lower arm can be effectively suppressed by the flange.

  • Patent number: 5746449
Abstract: A seat belt device for a vehicle which improves shock absorbing force without reducing a space of an interior of a vehicle. An anchor upper cover of a slip joint is formed in the shape of a disk with an outer side thereof in a transverse direction of the vehicle being opened, and has a structure including a first wall which covers a head portion of an anchor bolt and including a second wall which faces the first wall in such a manner as to be disposed further toward the interior of the vehicle than the first wall with a sealed space of a predetermined width between the first wall and the second wall. A space formed between the first wall and the second wall is filled with a fluid having a low volume change, for example, water, oil or the like.
