Abstract: An object of the present invention is to display or generate a map image which is easy for a moving user to intuitively understand. In an image providing system, an image generation apparatus 2 is connected to an image pickup apparatus 1, which is externally provided, so as to communicate with each other, and an image display apparatus 3 is connected to the image generation apparatus 2 so as to communicate with each other. The image display apparatus 3 displays a first map image of a moving object having the image display apparatus itself mounted thereon, and the vicinity of the moving object by using a display section 34. A communication section 35 requests a point-of-view converted image from the image generation apparatus 2 by notifying an point-of-view angle and a line-of-sight direction of the displayed first map image.
