  • Patent number: 7092411
Abstract: When forming an MPEG-TS (transport stream) containing access units which are units of access of MPEG data, transfer timing is controlled in a transfer timing control section under control of a transfer control section. Access units are thus sent as TS packets from an access unit transfer processing section. A new PTS(Presentation Time Stamp) is embedded in a PES header supplied from a PES header transfer control section, by a PTS embedding section. A TS packet sequence containing both of them is formed by a reproduction buffer. On the other hand, a PCR(Program Clock Reference) serving as a time reference is embedded in a TS packet supplied from a PCR transfer control section and a resultant TS packet is sent to a PCR buffer, by a PCR embedding section on the basis of a STC(System Time Clock) supplied from an STC section. The TS packets are multiplexed as a TS packet sequence to form an MPEG-TS, by a TS multiplexing section.

  • Patent number: 6950472
Abstract: In special reproduction, pictures whose display timings are set in advance are sequentially transferred to a decoder side. When a decode start instruction is outputted during the first transfer of a picture, the second transfer of the picture is started at the transfer completion timing of the first transfer if a transfer completion timing of the second transfer comes before a transfer start timing corresponding to the display timing of a subsequent picture.

  • Patent number: 6731658
Abstract: A data recording method is provided. The data recording method includes the processes of: receiving multiplexed data including a plurality of programs from an external source; extracting at least one program out of the programs included in the received multiplexed data; and recording the extracted at least one program, wherein each of programs is divided into a plurality of packets, and the programs are time-division multiplexed as the multiplexed data by a unit of the packet.

  • Patent number: 6493362
Abstract: A data recording method and a data recording system are provided to allow one data to be extracted and recorded out of signals including a plurality of time-division multiplexed data. One example is that packets composing one program data can be extracted and recorded out of TS data in which a plurality of program data are time-division multiplexed by a transport stream in the MPEG. When a PCR is disposed in the extracted packet, the value of the PCR is replaced with a new PCR value generated based on a bit rate and other information at the time of recording.

  • Publication number: 20020031330
Abstract: MPEG2-TS (transport streams) are inputted from a digital broadcast receiving unit. At a storage processing unit, a program configuration is analyzed, and desired record data is formed. Then, the inputted transport streams are sequentially stored in an MPEG2-TS recording area of a storage medium. At the storage processing unit, an access unit to be targeted for special reproduction is analyzed based on the MPEG2-TS, and auxiliary information containing the recording position information is generated. The generated information is recorded in an auxiliary information recording area of the storage medium. During special reproduction, at the reproduction processing unit, the access unit determined based on auxiliary information is read out from the storage medium, and the reproduction time information is provided. A reproduction transport stream is configured, and is outputted to a digital broadcast receiving unit. Further, special reproduction is carried out at a predetermined timing.
