  • Patent number: 5519409
Abstract: This plane array antenna for receiving satellite broadcasts is an optimal combination of the plane array antenna main body having a tilt angle, a converter connected with the antenna main body through the power supply portion, and the rotation mechanism for rotating the antenna main body within almost a horizontal plane for tracking the azimuthal angle direction. The plane array antenna main body has the power supply portion formed at the center of the rotation and the converter includes a dielectric substrate having a microstrip channel formed on the substrate and a casing accommodating the substrate. The converter is fixed downwardly of the antenna main body and supports the antenna main body. The power supply portion includes the power supply probe with an insulation covering, and has its front end portion inserted into a space formed with the antenna body, a central portion extending through the casing of the converter, and the lowest end portion combined with the microstrip channel.

  • Patent number: 5416492
Abstract: Dielectric strips made of a dielectric material are placed between a pair of conductor plates located a specified distance apart. Cutouts are formed in the dielectric strips. The cutouts, a part of each dielectric strip is formed into an electrically asymmetric portion. When high-frequency power is supplied to the dielectric strips, the power is transmitted through an NRD waveguide composed of the dielectric strips and the pair of conductor plates, with the result that electromagnetic wave is radiated from the cutouts into the space between the conductor plates. This electromagnetic wave excites the radiation elements formed in the conductor plates, which then radiate electromagnetic waves.

  • Patent number: 5181042
Abstract: A planar microstrip array antenna with a beam tilt, which comprises a plurality of pairs of circularly polarized wave radiating elements, the orientation angles of the two radiating elements in each pair being different by a predetermined angle within the plane of the planar antenna. The antenna further comprises a feed line for supplying electric power to the radiating elements. The feed line is provided with a plurality of pairs of terminal feeding portions which diverge corresponding individually to the pairs of circularly polarized wave radiating elements. The paired feeding portions are equal in electrical length. Since the respective orientation angles of the paired radiating elements are different, a phase difference is produced between the radiating elements, thus providing a beam tilt. Since no phase shift portion for producing a phase difference is formed between the paired terminal feeding portions, the configuration of the feed line is simple.
