  • Publication number: 20120155061
Abstract: To constrain reductions in luminous efficacy while enhancing the color rendition index, the LED module includes a blue LED, at least one variety of phosphor particles excited by the outgoing light from the blue LED, and neodymium glass particles that include neodymium ions absorbing the outgoing light from the phosphor particles in a predetermined wavelength band.

  • Patent number: 7977262
    Abstract: A glass composition which contains Ce ions as a component substantially comprises, in terms of oxides, SiO2: 55 to 75 wt %, B2O3: 6 to 25 wt %, CeO2: 0.01 to 5 wt %, SnO: 0.01 to 5 wt %, Al2O3: 0 to 10 wt %, Li2O: 0 to 10 wt %, Na2O: 0 to 10 wt %, K2O: 0 to 10 wt %, MgO: 0 to 5 wt %, CaO: 0 to 10 wt %, SrO: 0 to 10 wt %, BaO 0 to 10 wt %, TiO2: 0 to 1.0 wt %, Fe2O3: 0.01 to 0.2 wt %, Sb2O3: 0 to 5 wt %, ZrO2: 0.01 to 5 wt %. By having such constituents, the glass composition is capable of suppressing transmission of ultraviolet light and solarization, and thus the glass composition hardly suffers from initial coloring or coloring during lamp production.

  • Publication number: 20090160310
Abstract: A discharge lamp 1 satisfies relations of ?1??2?3×10?7 and ?2>?3, where ?1 represents a thermal expansion coefficient [1/K] of a material of lead wires 5b and 6b, ?2 represents a thermal expansion coefficient of a material of bead glasses 3 and 4, and ?3 represents a thermal expansion coefficient of a material of a glass bulb 2. The discharge lamp 1 also satisfies relation of S1<S2, where S1 represents a strain point [° C.] of the material of the bead glasses 3 and 4 and S2 represents the material of the glass bulb 2. In the discharge lamp 1, tensile strains are unlikely to be created on the bead glasses or the glass bulb. As a result, a sealing part of the discharge lamp 1 can hardly crack during manufacture of the lamp.

  • Publication number: 20090141478
    Abstract: Disclosed is a glass composition for lamps which contains Mo ions as a component, substantially comprising the following that are expressed in terms of oxides: SiO2: 55 to 75 wt %, B2O3: 11 to 25 wt %, MoO3: 0.3 to 1.4 wt %, Al2O3: 1 to 10 wt %, Li2O: 0 to 10 wt %, Na2O: 0 to 10 wt %, K2O: 0 to 10 wt %, Li2O+Na2O+K2O: 1 to 10 wt %, MgO: 0 to 5 wt %, CaO: 0 to 10 wt %, SrO: 0 to 10 wt %, BaO: 0 to 10 wt %, MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO: 1 to 10 wt %. By having such a constitution, the glass composition has a high ultra violet shielding effect and hardly suffers from coloring.
