  • Patent number: 7091266
Abstract: A flame-retardant composition comprises a polyphenylene ether resin having a number average molecular weight in terms of polystyrene of 500 to 5,000 and a phosphazene compound, the content of the polyphenylene ether being 20 to 95% by weight and that of the phosphazene compound being 80 to 5% by weight. The flame-retardant composition is excellent in processability when added to resins, and can provide a resin composition that contains no halogens and has an excellent balance of processability, heat resistance and flame retardancy.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 27, 2003
Date of Patent: August 15, 2006
    Assignee: Asahi Kasei Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Fumiki Murakami, Junnichi Nakahashi, Atsushi Nanasawa
  • Patent number: 7060744
Abstract: A phosphazene composition which has a content of volatile components of not less than 0.02% by weight and not more than 1.0% by weight when it is heated at 200° C. for 2 hours; is excellent in resistance to hydrolysis, and when the phosphazene composition is added to a resin, there is provided a resin composition which highly maintains the balance of resistance to hydrolysis, flame retardancy and stability of electric characteristics in a high-frequency field of not less than 1 GHz.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 27, 2003
Date of Patent: June 13, 2006
    Assignee: Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corporation
Inventors: Fumiki Murakami, Jun-ichi Nakahashi, Atsushi Nanasawa, Tomoyuki Fujita
