    Abstract: A connecting device includes a first circuit board having a first conductive pattern on an outer peripheral edge portion thereof, a second circuit board having a second conductive pattern on an outer peripheral edge portion thereof, and a connector having a terminal corresponding to the first and second conductive patterns. The terminal connects the first conductive pattern and the second conductive pattern when the first and second circuit boards are attached to the connector. Also, a connecting device includes a first circuit board having a first conductive pattern on an edge portion thereof, a second circuit board having a second conductive pattern on an edge portion thereof, and a connector having a first and second faces, the first and second faces have a first and second recess portions respectively. A terminal connects the first and second conductive patterns when the first and second circuit boards are attached to the first and second recess portions respectively.

    Abstract: A connector includes a receptacle 1 to be mounted on a substrate 11 and a plug 5 adapted to be connected to the receptacle 1. The receptacle 1 has a shield case 2 provided with connection terminals 31 therein, and the plug 5 has a shield case 6 provided with connection terminals 71 therein. The shield case 6 of the plug 5 is adapted to be inserted into the shield case 2 of the receptacle 1 when the plug 5 is connected to the receptacle 1, at which the connection terminals 71 of the plug 5 are electrically connected to the connection terminals 31 of the receptacle 1. A tongue portion 23 is provided on a bottom surface of the shield case 2 of the receptacle 1 and a recess 63 is formed on a bottom surface 61 of the shield case 6 of the plug 5 so that the tongue portion 23 is fitted into the recess 63 when the plug 5 is connected to the receptacle 1, which serve as an erroneous insertion preventing and guiding mechanism.

    Abstract: A connection terminal that can be brought into stable one-point contact with an electrode and that allows for a smooth connecting operation, even in the case of small contact pads or other such electrodes for establishing electrical contact. A socket contact as the connection terminal is provided to an electronic-component connector having an open portion into which a module is inserted. The socket contact comes into contact at the distal end with an electrode of the module in a direction that intersects with the connecting direction of the module when the module is inserted. The socket contact has a contact part having a contact trunk that protrudes into the opening from the proximal-end side, and a contact point provided to the distal end of the contact trunk. The concave electrode of the module slides from the proximal-end side of the contact part to the distal-end side, and the contact part narrows towards the front surface.

    Abstract: An electronic-component connector that forms a secure detachable connection and is packaged in a small space even when the electronic component is a module or other component that is linked to an optical waveguide or other signal transfer member, and transmits and receives a signal such as an optical signal via the transfer member. An optical waveguide extends from a first side of a module that is connected to the connector. The connector body of the electronic-component connector has an open portion for accommodating a module inserted from the open side. A socket contact portion for contacting a connection terminal of the module is provided to the open portion. A lead-out path is formed in the shape of a groove in the connector body that is communicated with the open portion, and leads out the optical waveguide from the connector body. A cover member is attached to the connector body so as to be able to open and close, and the member secures the module inside the open portion.
