  • Publication number: 20050046159
Abstract: A curtain airbag apparatus in which a curtain airbag can be inflated quickly downward without increasing the output of an inflator. A guide rod for guiding the rear end of a curtain airbag when the curtain airbag is inflated from a roof side downward is attached to a C-pillar of a motor vehicle. The rear end of the curtain airbag is connected to the guide rod via a connecting belt. A space for allowing passage of the connecting belt is defined between a cabin-side surface of the C-pillar and an edge of a pillar garnish. The space is closed by a lip portion of a weather strip mounted to the C-pillar. The connecting belt includes a metallic wire and a rubber tube.

  • Publication number: 20040178608
Abstract: A guide mechanism for a curtain airbag for guiding a longitudinal end of the curtain airbag, the curtain airbag configured to be able to deploy downward along a side of an interior of a vehicle, includes: a guide member for the curtain airbag, configured to be vertically mounted to a pillar of the vehicle and configured to guide the airbag over a length of the guide member; and a pillar garnish configured to be mounted to the pillar and to cover the guide member, where the guide member and pillar garnish are configured to be mounted to the pillar so that a shortest distance between the guide member along the length and an interior surface of the pillar is less than or equal to a shortest distance between a side of the pillar garnish and the interior surface of the pillar.

  • Patent number: 5983184
Abstract: The present invention enables a visually impaired user to freely and easily control hyper text. A voice synthesis program orally reads hyper text on the Internet. In synchronization with this reading, the system focuses on a link keyword that is most closely related to the location where reading is currently being performed. When an instruction "jump to link destination" is input (by voice or with a key), the program control can jump to the link destination for the link keyword that is being focused on. Further, the reading of only a link keyword can be instructed.

  • Patent number: 5284080
Abstract: A tone generating apparatus comprises a wave memory for consecutively storing first tone wave data acquired by performing pulse code modulation on a tone waveform in a first predetermined interval starting at an attack of a musical tone, second tone wave data provided by adding that tone wave data which is obtained by performing pulse code modulation on a tone waveform in a second predetermined interval following the first predetermined interval and is then weighted with a fade-out characteristic and that tone wave data which is acquired by synthesizing waveform components of a tone waveform in a third predetermined interval following the second predetermined interval and is then weighted with a face in-characteristic after being linked for the second predetermined interval, and third tone wave data produced by synthesizing waveform components of a tone waveform in a third predetermined interval following the second predetermined interval based on a characteristic of the tone waveform in the third predetermin
