    Abstract: A fluid coupling includes a casing supported by a drive shaft, a cover fixed to the casing to form a chamber, a partition plate fixed to the cover to partition the chamber into a reservoir and an operation chamber, a rotor disposed in the operation chamber, a valve plate operated to open or close a passage provided in the partition plate, a stud supported by the cover and fixed to the valve plate and a bimetal spring fixed to the stud on an inner end and to the cover on an outer end thereof. A damper is disposed between the cover and the bimetal spring and includes a rubber block and a bracket fixed to a part of the cover. The damper prevents the vibration and breakage of the bimetal spring.

    Abstract: A water pump apparatus has an impeller mounted on a driven rotational shaft rotatably supported by mutually spaced bearing portions in a body member. In order to lubricate the sliding bearing surfaces between the bearing portions and the rotational shaft, oil seals surrounding the rotational shaft define first and second oil tanks, while a third oil tank is defined between the bearing portions. Spiral oil circulating grooves pump oil from the first and second tanks along the sliding bearing surface to the third tank in order to lubricate the sliding bearing surfaces. Oil passages in the bearing portions permit oil to be returned to the first and second tanks. An annular flange fitted on the rotational shaft fits between the bearing portions to provide axial bearing support for the rotational shaft. Excess oil pressure arising due to heat build up is relieved by a check valve mounted in the body member.

    Abstract: A mounting structure for a clutch booster assembly to be arranged adjacent to and in front of a vacuum brake booster assembly fixed to a forward fire-wall structure of a vehicle body. A bracket member of a U-shaped cross-section fixed to the fire-wall structure opens toward one side of the brake booster assembly and supports the clutch booster assembly on its front end. A flexible tubular cover member has a front end secured to the front end of the bracket member to hermetically enclose a rear air suction opening of the clutch booster assembly and a rear end coupled within an opening of the fire-wall structure, and a flexible tubular sealing boot has a front end secured to the rear end of the cover member and a rear end secured to an operation rod of the clutch booster assembly. The sealing boot is provided with an annular lip in engagement with the front face of the fire-wall structure and at its rear end with a vent hole.

    Abstract: Brake power multiplying devices for automobile brake systems include a housing having a pressure responsive flexible diaphragm for dividing the inside chamber of the housing into a suction pressure chamber and a counter-pressure chamber. A piston made of a plastic material is attached to the diaphragm and houses an air valve and a control valve which are adapted to be actuated by a push rod operated by a driver of the automobile through a brake pedal or like operating member. A key member made of a metallic material is provided for holding the air valve on the piston. The key member includes a pair of outer holding arms having tip ends attached with rubber members so that it does not damage the plastic piston.

The tube can also be fixed to a plate backing the sealing face. Or, the guide arm can be a tubular extension of the retainer for slidingly engaging the poppet inner annular surfaces.

    Abstract: A pneumatically operated brake booster in association with the hydraulic master brake cylinder of motor vehicles comprises a housing, an annular diaphragm having its outer periphery sealingly attached to the housing and its inner periphery sealingly attached to an axially movable power piston, a valve mechanism mounted in the power piston and operated by a manually operable push rod, which includes an air valve, and a key inserted into a radial slot of the power piston to thereby engage the air valve. The diaphragm is provided at the rear wall surface thereof adjacent to the housing with a plurality of radial projections abutting the housing. The circumferential space between neighboring radial projections is made smaller than the width of the key thereby holding the key in position and preventing the radial withdrawl thereof from the power piston.
