    Abstract: Disclosed is a vehicle control system capable of selectively setting one of a normal mode and a sport mode as a vehicle travel mode, wherein normal-mode and sport-mode target acceleration characteristics are set in such a manner that a sport-mode target acceleration is greater than a normal-mode target acceleration, when compared under the same conditions in terms of accelerator angle and vehicle speed, and a difference between the sport-mode target acceleration and the normal-mode target acceleration becomes smaller along with an increase in the vehicle speed, when compared under the same condition in terms of the accelerator angle.
