  • Publication number: 20240074277
Abstract: Display devices and electronic devices that reduce color mixture while reducing a decrease in brightness and a decrease in a protective function of light emitting elements are disclosed. In one example, a display device includes light emitting elements that include first electrodes, an organic layer, a second electrode, a protective layer, and color filters. Subpixels corresponding to the respective light emitting elements are formed. A ring-shaped lens including a convex surface portion that is convex in a direction away from a substrate is provided in a peripheral edge portion of each of the subpixels. A refractive index of the lens is higher than a refractive index of an outer portion of the lens in contact with the convex surface portion.

  • Patent number: 8066905
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an optical element which can suppress a production cost, has good heat resistance, uniformly maintains the fixed orientation of a liquid crystal polymer in a wide temperature range, shows a low haze with reliability, and can maintain desired birefringence property with reliability. The present invention relates to an optical element formed by forming, on an upper surface of a base material having light transmittance, at least a birefringence layer having a structure obtained by fixing liquid crystal monomers each having a polymerizable group at a terminal thereof in a state where the monomers are homeotropically oriented, and by removing an additive layer formed on the upper surface of the birefringence layer.

  • Publication number: 20090185121
Abstract: A display board with a retardation control function has a retardation control layer containing liquid crystalline polymers with a fixed orientation, and a liquid crystal layer. The display board has a voltage holding ratio of 90% or higher after a forced impurity extraction is performed on the display board with the retardation control layer in contact with the liquid crystal layer, and application of a voltage to the liquid crystal layer. The display board is capable of providing a high quality display while preventing a drop in the voltage holding ratio attributed to impurities mixed into the liquid crystal layer, and thus preventing the occurrence of display defects, such as flickering.
