  • Patent number: 4867649
Abstract: A refrigeration system includes a variable-capacity compressor having a compression chamber for sucking and compressing a refrigerant and a crankcase surrounding a swash plate forming a drive portion for suction and compression, and a passage through which the refrigerant discharged from the outlet of the compression chamber passes at least through a condenser, an expansion means and an evaporator and is sucked into the inlet of the compression chamber of the compressor, the capacity of the compressor being changed by slanting the swash plate during its rotation. A pressure control device is provided in a refrigerant passage between the evaporator and the suction valve of the compressor whereby the pressure upstream thereof is controlled in such a manner that it does not decrease below a predetermined value, thereby preventing frosting of evaporator fins.

  • Patent number: 4815943
Abstract: A variable displacement compressor comprises a housing forming a crank chamber, a shaft, expansible chambers including pistons, a swash plate connected to the shaft so as to be smoothly changeable in inclination against the shaft and driven to rotate, a wobble plate rotatable on the swash plate, a rotation preventing mechanism including a shoe member slidable in an axial direction, and a pressure control valve which is provided in a refrigerant passage from a suction port of the compressor to the expansible chamber to control the pressure of refrigerant to be sucked responsive to the suction pressure and both to the suction pressure and to the discharge pressure when the discharge pressure is high. The refrigerant passage has a sharply bent portion for separating lubrication oil from a refrigerant flowing therein and communicates with the crank chamber to discharge blow-by gas therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4801248
Abstract: The variable capacity swash plate compressor of the present invention includes a rotary swash plate having an eccentric mass located opposite to the driving point of the swash plate with respect to the axis of the same. The mass distribution in the rotary swash plate is established such that, within a range in which the piston stroke is less than a predetermined value, a moment about a pivot point produced by the rotation of the swash plate becomes larger than a moment produced by the reciprocating motion of pistons, piston rods and the like and acting upon the swash plate, while, within a range in which the stroke is larger than the predetermined value, the former moment becomes smaller than the latter moment. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a compressor of the type in which its capacity control characteristics are improved over a wide shaft speed range.

  • Patent number: 4782712
Abstract: A variable displacement compressor has a sleeve axially slidably mounted on an axial drive shaft and a swash plate tiltably connected to the sleeve. The angle of the tilt of the swash plate is variable by an axial movement of the sleeve and a movement of the swash plate along a guiding cam track to vary the compressor displacement. The guiding cam track is provided by a cam groove having a form of a closed loop and formed in a driving plate drivingly connected to the drive shaft and to the swash plate to transmit the torque of the drive shaft to the swash plate. A fulcrum pin is provided on the swash plate and engaged in the cam groove and is movable along the guide groove toward the drive shaft as the angle of tilt of the swash plate is decreased.

  • Patent number: 4649709
Abstract: An air conditioning method for controlling a room temperature by an air conditioner which controls a temperature control element in accordance with a required cooling power in the room. A temperature of chilled air blown out of a chilled air blow-off port of the air conditioner is directly or indirectly monitored, and if the chilled air temperature is lower than a predetermined temperature, the chilled air blown out of the blow-off port is prevented from becoming colder than a predetermined temperature even when the chilled air temperature would become lower than the predetermined temperature if the temperature control in accordance with the required cooling force in the room is applied.

  • Patent number: 4515514
Abstract: A vane-type rotary machine for use as a compressor, pump or the like. The rotary machine has a cam ring with an inner peripheral contour expressed by an epitrochoid-like curve having at least one lobe, a cylindrical rotor having a plurality of vane grooves and contacting the inner peripheral surface of the cam ring, and vanes slidably received by the vane grooves and adapted to slide on the inner peripheral surface of the cam ring as the rotor rotates. The inner peripheral contour of the cam ring is corrected or modified in accordance with the amount of offset of the vanes in such a manner as to suppress the lateral reactional force applied to the vanes thereby to reduce the friction loss during sliding of the vanes in respective vane grooves, while making the sliding movement of the vanes approach a movement in accordance with a sine wave curve, thereby to diminish noise, thermal loss and mechanical damage which are attributable to irregularity of movement of the vanes.

  • Patent number: 4507068
Abstract: A vane-type rotary machine suitable for use as a compressor, pump or the like, having a cylinder provided with an inner peripheral contour expressed by an epitrochoid-like curve having at least one lobe, a cylindrical rotor contacting the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder and having a plurality of vane grooves, and vanes slidably received by respective vane grooves. The inner peripheral contour of the cylinder constituted by the epitrochoid-like curve is divided at the circumferential mid point of each of the portions where the distance between the rotor and the cylinder is minimized, and the curve is contracted in the circumferential direction by a predetermined angle to form a discontinuity corresponding to the predetermined angle. Both end points of the discontinuity is connected by an arc of the same radius as the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4407638
Abstract: A swash plate type compressor including a partition plate mounted in a side cover for axially partitioning the interior of the side cover into two portions. One of said two portions interposed between the partition plate and a valve plate functions as a high pressure chamber, and the other portion interposed between the partition wall and a bottom wall surface of the cover functions as a silencing chamber. A compressed refrigerant discharged from cylinder bores and introduced into the high pressure chamber is discharged from the high pressure chamber through the partition plate into the silencing chamber where pulsations of pressure are removed from the refrigerant.By directing the compressed refrigerant discharged from the high pressure chamber toward the center of the silencing chamber and by drawing off the refrigerant from the center of the silencing chamber and introducing same into the refrigerant cycle, increased effects can be achieved in silencing noises.

  • Patent number: 4321019
Abstract: In a swash plate type compressor, an oil separating chamber is arranged in the course of the flow of coolant gas from an inlet to a low pressure chamber. An oil accumulating chamber is formed between the rear end of the drive shaft and the rear side cover. The oil accumulating chamber is communicated with the oil separating chamber and with a thrust bearing through an oil passage formed in the drive shaft. The thrust bearing is lubricated by use of oil from the oil accumulating chamber.
