  • Publication number: 20050280857
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a generator, a storage, an image data format converter, and a sender. The generator generates print image data for printing an image, based on image data sent from an external device. The storage stores the print image data. The image data format converter converts the print image data into image data in a format handled by an external device. The sender sends the converted image data via an IP (internet protocol) network to the external device. The image data format converter performs one of color space conversion, expansion, compression, resolution conversion, filtering, halftone processing, density gamma conversion, and noise removal in accordance with parameters determined based on at least one of property information of the print image data and property information requested by the external device.

  • Publication number: 20050243375
Abstract: An image processing apparatus connected to an external apparatus via a network includes an selecting unit for selecting an application mode and an image quality mode, a scanning unit for scanning an original document, a scanning correction unit for generating image data from the scanned document, a storage unit for storing the image data and the process mode information, a compression unit for compressing the image data, an extension unit for extending the compressed image data, a data format converting unit for converting a data format of the image data according to the application mode and the image quality mode, and a communication unit for communicating the image data with the external apparatus. The data format converting unit receives image data having a first data format, and outputs the image data having a second data format, wherein the first and second data format are either a data format dedicated to the image processing apparatus or a general data format.

  • Publication number: 20050213120
Abstract: In an image data processing apparatus having a HDD for storing image data, spatial filter processing, in which a dynamic range for output is set wider than a dynamic range for input, is applied to image data to be output to an external apparatus in a spatial filter processing unit, resolution conversion processing for converting a density into a high density is applied to the image data after the processing in a resolution conversion processing unit, gamma correction processing is applied to the image data after the processing in a gamma correction processing unit, and the image data after the processing is converted into a predetermined format in a processing unit for external output and is sent to an external apparatus from a network I/F.

  • Publication number: 20040156076
Abstract: An image processing apparatus that processes image data and transmits processed image data to an external unit includes a content determination unit that determines content of image processing to be applied to image data for each image data, an image processing unit that applies the image processing of the content determined by the content determination unit to the image data, and a transmission unit that transmits the image data processed by the image processing unit to an external unit.

  • Publication number: 20040131263
Abstract: A hard disk drive (HDD) stores a plurality of image data in a first format in a compressed form. An image format converter converts the format of the image data to a second format. The second format is a general format, as such as JPEG or TIFF. When transmitting the image data to an external PC, the image data in both the first format and the second format is transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20040125410
Abstract: The image data corresponding to an image is separated into areas corresponding to contents of the image. The image data in each of the area is subjected to an image processing specific to the content of the image. The image types are, for example, a character, a photograph, color, and presence of halftone. The image processing are, for example, gamma correction, color conversion, and gradation processing. The processed image data is then transferred to an external device via network.

  • Publication number: 20040114172
Abstract: An image reader scans a document to thereby acquire image data. This image data is in a first format and is stored in a memory. When an external device requests for the image data, a format converter, converts the image data in the first format into an image data in a second format that is acceptable to the external device. The external device forms an image on a recording medium using the image data in the second format.

  • Publication number: 20030030647
Abstract: The flexible method and apparatus for dithering image data independently specify the output image data size in a number of bits as well as the dither size in the running and sub-running directions. The input image data is processed based upon the above determined parameters in a common piece of hardware without redesigning associated circuits.
