  • Publication number: 20130046202
Abstract: A guidewire includes a core shaft, a hollow coil body, and a hollow resin body. The core shaft includes a distal portion, a proximal portion, and a center portion that is sandwiched between the distal portion and the proximal portion. The hollow coil body covers the distal portion when the distal portion is enclosed within the hollow coil body. The hollow resin body covers the center portion when the center portion is enclosed within the hollow resin body. The center portion has a tapered shape such that the diameter of the center portion decreases from a proximal end portion side of the center portion toward a distal end portion side of the center portion, and a rigidity of the hollow resin body is higher than a rigidity of the hollow coil body.

  • Publication number: 20120253321
Abstract: A guidewire includes a core shaft and a coil body that covers at least a distal end portion of the core shaft. Along a center line in a longitudinal-axis direction of the core shaft, the distal end portion of the core shaft has a first pre-assembly curvature with respect to a proximal end of the core shaft. Along a center line in a longitudinal-axis direction of the coil body, at least a distal end portion of the coil body has a second pre-assembly curvature with respect to a proximal end of the coil body. The first pre-assembly curvature is less than the second pre-assembly curvature. When the core shaft and the coil body are coupled to each other, a distal end portion of the guidewire has, along a center line in a longitudinal-axis direction of the guidewire, a third curvature with respect to a proximal end of the guidewire.

  • Publication number: 20110301501
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a guidewire capable of measuring a lesion location present in a vascular channel, preventing perforation of a vessel or the like by improving flexibility of a lesion measuring part, measuring a lesion of a peripheral portion by improving insertability of the guidewire into the peripheral portion of a tubular organ such as a vessel, and accurately measuring a lesion location inside a vascular channel even under heartbeats. The guidewire includes a core shaft and a coiled body wound around a front end of the core shaft. The coiled body is made of a coil of strand. The coil of strand is formed by arranging a radiopaque coil of strand and a radiolucent coil of strand alternately in line and connecting them with each other.
