  • Patent number: 7359076
Abstract: An internet accessible server permits access management to remote printing devices by remote users. Only users having printing access to a target remote printing device may submit a print job for printing on the target remote printing device. Users having printing access permission are further divided into owner status and user status. Owner status user of a remote printing device may grant or revoke the printing permission of non-owner status users. At least one owner status user is designated a super-owner, and can grant and revoke the owner status of other users. The super-owner user may relinquish its super-owner status to any other user. After submitting a print job for a target printing device, the print job is stored in a storage space on the Internet and is transferred to the target printing device only when the target printing device itself downloads the print job using standard internet protocols similar to those used in the downloading of a web page.

  • Patent number: 7009941
Abstract: There are disclosed a method and device for searching equipment, such as a printer, connected to a network through a router by using a broadcast packet are disclosed. A host 110 acquires routing information from a router 200. The host 110 analyzes a domain name of a sub network B103 in the routing information so as to acquire a broadcast address in the domain, then, send a broadcast packet requesting a printer name addressed to the broadcast address through the router 200. The host 110 searches a printer 120 by receiving a response packet for the broadcast packet.

  • Patent number: 5537515
Abstract: Bit map data stored in an image memory is read every one column by N lines or M columns by one line and is stored in a shift register of M bits by N bits. The data in the shift register is differentiated in the direction of the column direction by edge detectors and extracted as data representing only a contour portion. This contour data is classified into forms of discontinuous points with respect to the horizontal direction and the vertical direction by classifying circuits. As for the classified data, the size of a dot to be printed and a printing position are converted by a determining circuit to a pulse width and a timing at which the dot is to be generated, and the classified data is converted to a pulse width by a pulse-width modulating circuit and is outputted to a laser beam modulating device. As a result, a dot smaller than a normal dot is added in a vacant portion, or a part of a normal dot is shaved, thereby printing a smooth pattern.

  • Patent number: 5355448
Abstract: The system for generating dot signals corresponding to a character pattern on the basis of outline information of a character pattern described by only straight lines comprises a section 6 for deciding end points of straight lines constituting outlines on the basis of the outline information. In response to end point information decided by this section 6, a DDA calculating section 7 continuously generates information indicative of a pair of points constituting two straight lines, respectively in such a way that two straight lines can be extended from one end point selected from the decided end points toward two end points adjacent thereto. The generated information indicative of a pair of points is inputted to a straight line generating section 8 for generating a straight line composed of dot signals between a pair of the points. These dot signals correspond to a character pattern.
