  • Publication number: 20070046620
Abstract: A light transmission device transmits an image signal on light to an output device based on a control signal for controlling the image signal. The light transmission device includes a transmitting interface component, a receiving interface component, and a light transmitting medium. The transmitting interface component converts the image signal to a light signal and transmits the light signal. The receiving interface component converts the light signal transmitted from the transmitting interface component to an image signal and transmits the same to the output device. The light transmitting medium connects the transmitting interface component and the receiving interface component. The transmitting interface component includes a combining component, which classifies the image signal to each of plural bit data channels according to a predetermined condition, inserts the control signal into the remaining bits of the bit data channels and then carries out modulation.

  • Publication number: 20030018896
Abstract: Techniques are provided which can prevent secret data or falsified data in a data providing system from being presented to a data requesting system. A data verifying system is installed in a network interconnecting the data requesting system and data providing system. The data verifying system checks whether verification data for supplied data matches the supplied data. In accordance with this check, data to be transmitted from the data verifying system to the data requesting system is altered.

  • Patent number: 5983360
Abstract: A running information processing system and a standby information processing system are connected via networks to a bridge to communicate with partner terminals. A hot standby function is provided such that the partner terminal is not required to include a path change-over function. When it is assumed via an alive or dead state monitoring path that the running system is not operating normally, the standby system takes over processing of the running system, adds to a frame a communication address of the running system as the communication address of the transmission source, and sends the frame via the bridge. The bridge includes a plurality of ports to connect a plurality of LANs, and transfers between the ports the frame to which the communication addresses of the transmission source and destination of the information processing system are added for a relaying operation of the frame.

  • Patent number: 5678062
Abstract: A system for controlling the DMA transfer for a plurality of IO devices has an IO controller for each group of the IO devices. Data is retrieved from memory and stored in the IO controller where it is analyzed. The retrieved data has a structure that permits a group of DMA start request quads to be linked together for parallel or pipeline processing of the DMA transfer requests. Each start request quad has a pointer for additionally retrieving corresponding command data. The command data is set forth in a number of blocks, each linked to the next one by a pointer. When a DMA processing has been completed, the termination or completion status is entered into a specific entry in a completion list for the corresponding IO device. Thus, a determination can be made as to whether specific IO devices have completed a requested DMA processing.

  • Patent number: 5652892
Abstract: Remote power source control for a system having a plurality of information processing apparatuses interconnected by a network or networks capable of controlling remote power sources irrespective of different types of networks and providing security checks. Each information processing apparatus is provided with a remote power source controller which is always operated by an auxiliary power source. In instructing a power control of a remote information processing apparatus, control data is transferred between the remote information processing apparatus and a local information processing apparatus. The remote information processing apparatus checks a user ID and a password transmitted from the local processing apparatus prior to controlling its main power source.

  • Patent number: 5636341
Abstract: When a fault occurs on a data communication processor that controls data communication between information processors, all information processors connected to the data communication processor are notified of the occurrence of the fault, upon which the information processors automatically reset the data communications processors. A fault detector is provided in an interface controller in a data communications processor 101, a crossbar switch 108, and an arbitration controller 109. When a fault occurs, the fault processor in the interface controller is notified of the occurrence and the failed location by means of a broadcast signal. The fault processor notifies the information processor of the fault by means of an interrupt signal. The notified information processor instructs the data communications processor to reset each controller of the data communication processor for fault recovery.

  • Patent number: 5046039
Abstract: In a buffer management system for communication apparatus, the statistical information to be collected at each station such as the number of occurences of receiver buffer busy state is counted at regular time intervals for a preset time duration, and if it becomes in excess of a predetermined number, the ratio in size of transmitter buffer area to receiver buffer area is changed in accordance with the buffer busy state number such that the size of the receiver buffer area becomes larger.

  • Patent number: 4769807
Abstract: In a loop communication system in which a plurality of stations connected to a pair of loop transmission lines comprised of a main transmission line and a preparatory transmission line communicate with each other through the loop transmission lines, one of the transmission lines has to be looped back to the other when failures occur in both the transmission lines by escaping from a point at which the failures occur. When the master station sequentially transmits loop back command signals to slave stations connected to the loop transmission lines, it takes into consideration the number of slave stations present between the master station and an interrogated slave station inclusive thereof so as to vary the monitoring time in accordance with a turn around time required for the master station to receive a response signal sent from the interrogated slave station being in receipt of a loop back command signal, thereby reducing the time for loop back.
