Patent number: 9217865Abstract: A light projection device capable of irradiating light only onto an object includes: a light projector in which an object and a back surface of the object are taken as a projectable range; a shadow region detector that detects a shadow that occurs on the back surface of the object by projection light; and a controller that corrects a shadow region so that a projection region of the light projector and the shadow region can coincide with each other on the back surface of the object, sets the corrected shadow region as a light projection range and sets, as a non-light projection range, a region other than the shadow region, and sets projection light projected onto the set light projection range, wherein the light projector projects the projection light onto a range where the object is present by projecting the set projection light onto the set light projection range.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2012Date of Patent: December 22, 2015Assignee: Panasonic Intellectual Property Management Co., Ltd.Inventors: Atsuyuki Yamamoto, Ryo Kawamura

Patent number: 8303120Abstract: An image display apparatus includes a projector receiving an image signal and projecting image light and a screen including a projection plane of arbitrary shape. The projector and screen are connected with link mechanisms and link mechanisms. The relative position and posture between the projector and the screen are automatically or manually changeable. The relative position and posture between the projector and the screen are measured, and correction parameters for correcting distortion of image light projected from the projector onto the screen are calculated from the previously set viewing position of the viewer and the shape of the projection plane of the projector. Based on the calculated correction parameters, the image signal inputted into the projector is subjected to distortion correction processing. It is therefore possible to allow the viewer to see a clear image even if the position of the screen is changed.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2007Date of Patent: November 6, 2012Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Hiroshi Hoshino, Ryo Kawamura, Atsuyuki Yamamoto

Publication number: 20090268095Abstract: An image display apparatus includes a projector 2 receiving an image signal and projecting image light and a screen 1 including a projection plane of arbitrary shape. The projector 2 and screen 1 are connected with link mechanisms 3a to 3c and link mechanisms 3b and 3d. The relative position and posture between the projector 2 and the screen 1 are automatically or manually changeable. The relative position and posture between the projector 2 and the screen 1 are measured, and correction parameters for correcting distortion of image light projected from the projector 2 onto the screen 1 are calculated from the previously set viewing position of the viewer and the shape of the projection plane of the projector 2. Based on the calculated correction parameters, the image signal inputted into the projector 2 is subjected to distortion correction processing. It is therefore possible to allow the viewer to see a clear image even if the position of the screen is changed.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 21, 2007Publication date: October 29, 2009Applicant: MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC WORKS, LTD.Inventors: Hiroshi Hoshino, Ryo Kawamura, Atsuyuki Yamamoto
